Disney's THE LION KING, presented by Marina Bay Sands and Disney Theatrical Productions, together with BASE Entertainment, opened at The Sands Theatre in Singapore's Marina Bay Sands March 9 and the reviews are now in.

El pasado miércoles 2 de marzo el Presidente de Disney Teatrical Productions, Thomas Schumacher, y el Dir. de Producción Internacional de Disney, Felipe Gamba, presentaron en el Teatro Real de Madrid el musical El Rey León, que llegará al Lope de Vega el próximo mes de Octubre. Uno de sus personajes más emblemáticos es Rafiki, que en este vídeo nos muestra los cinco idiomas africanos que se hablan en la producción. Además Schumacher también explica por qué este musical debe hacerse en Madrid.

As previously announced by BWW's Spain Editor Juanjo Gonzalez, DISNEY THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS (Thomas Schumacher, producer and president) in association with STAGE ENTERTAINMENT SPAIN (Julia Gomez Cora, general director), Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon (Mayor of Madrid) and Simon Amselem (Managing Director, The Walt Disney Company Spain and Portugal), have announced the Spanish premiere of Disney's landmark musical event, THE LION KING, to open October 21 at Lope de Vega Theatre on Madrid's Gran Via.

Bajo el lema 'El Musical Que Conmueve Al Mundo' se ha presentado esta mañana El Rey León, uno de los espectáculos de mayor éxito de los últimos tiempos en Broadway y en el West End, que se estrenará oficialmente el 21 de octubre en el Teatro Lope De Vega de la Gran Vía madrileña. Aunque aún quedan meses por delante y todavía no han finalizado los castings, Stage Entertainment ha querido presentar ya el proyecto a los medios, coincidiendo con la puesta a la venta de las entradas, incluyendo dos de los temas del musical interpretados por Brown Lindiwe Mkhize (Rafiki en la producción de Londres), que ha interpretado 'Circle Of Life', en inglés, y por Andile Gumbi (Simba en la producción de Londres) y Jessica Mears (Nala en la producción de Hamburgo), que han cantado a dúo en castellano 'Es la Noche del Amor'.

Disney's The Lion King, playing at the Durham Performing Arts Center through January 30, is theatrical storytelling at its most spectacular. Take a familiar father/son story that borrows heavily from Shakespeare, the Greeks, and the Bible. Add incredible, near unimaginable, artistry - puppets, masks, glorious costumes and scenery.
