TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. Ain't Too Proud has found its home on Broadway! Producers Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce have announced today that the new musical Ain't Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations will bring the incredible true story of the greatest R&B group of all time to Broadway in Spring 2019 at the legendary Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Additional information will be announced shortly.
The pre-Broadway run of “Ain't Too Proud—The Life and Times of The Temptations” at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre will begin performances on Tuesday, August 21. The opening is set for August 24 at 8 p.m., and performances will continue through September 30, 2018.
Producers Kevin McCollum, Doug Morris and Berry Gordy are thrilled to announce that Broadway veteran Chester Gregory will join the First National Tour of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL in the leading role of Berry Gordy. Mr. Gregory's first performance will be tonight in Richmond, VA.
