SF Sketchfest will celebrate the 11th annual San Francisco Comedy Festival by honoring Eddie Izzard and the Upright Citizens Brigade with in-person tributes and by welcoming Drew Carey, Jennifer Coolidge, David Cross, Rachel Dratch, Chris Elliott, Florence Henderson, Elliott Gould, John Hodgman, Sally Kellerman, Marc Maron, Bruce McCulloch, Christopher Meloni, Laraine Newman, Bob Odenkirk, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, Kevin Smith, Reggie Watts, Fred Willard, The Groundlings, the geeks behind w00tstock, the creators of Wet Hot American Summer and many more to fifteen venues over seventeen nights in San Francisco. SF Sketchfest, the most prestigious comedy festival on the west coast, runs January 19 through February 4, 2012. Tickets range from $10 to $75. Ted Neeley and The Little Big Band Premieres 1/20 at Rubicon Theatre

Ted Neeley, best known as the star of the Norman Jewison film of "Jesus Christ Superstar," as well as the Broadway and National Tours, helped launch Ventura's Rubicon Theatre Company back in 1998. He starred in the then-fledgling Rubicon's first production -- a concert version of that same show at the Majestic Theatre fourteen years ago. Initially announced for two performances only in the 1,400-seat venue, Rubicon's Superstar quickly sold-out, a third show was added, and Rubicon Theatre Company was born. Each performance received a standing ovation. Critics from both the Ventura County Star and The Reporter summed up Neeley's performance in one word: "stellar."

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced that Seth Rogen will serve as host for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The 27th annual awards ceremony will be held as a daytime luncheon in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica on Saturday, February 25, and the premiere broadcast will air later that evening at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on IFC.
