Chicago Shakespeare Extends OTHELLO: THE REMIX Through June 15

Chicago Shakespeare Theater's (CST) Othello: The Remix, the 90-minute hip-hop adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy, spun out and lyrically rewritten over original beats, has been extended through June 15, 2013 by popular demand.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, his wife Amy Rule and their three children attended Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Sunday matinee of Othello: The Remix, the hip hop, tragi-comic adaptation of Shakespeare's play, commissioned by Chicago Shakespeare. The City's 'first family' stayed to congratulate the Q Brothers and the acting company after the performance-a homecoming after the work's world premiere in London at Shakespeare's Globe and subsequent tour to Germany and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE Will Offer 'Youth Rush' Tickets

The Broadway Premiere of Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which comes on the heels of its sold-out run at Lincoln Center, has announced a youth rush ticket policy. A number of $37 tickets will be made available for each performance for patrons aged thirty-five and younger. These tickets must be purchased day-of, in-person at the box office and are subject to availability. Valid photo I.D. will be required, and patrons are limited to two rush tickets per performance.

Following Molusi's internationally acclaimed production Itsoseng, presented by Chicago Shakespeare in 2010, Cadre is inspired by true events in the life of an activist during and after the apartheid era. Cadre is produced by CST, with Richard Jordan Productions Ltd in association with The Market Theatre of Johannesburg and Adelaide Festival of Arts. Committed to fostering dialogue on the important political issues explored in this production, Chicago Shakespeare is encouraging broad-based participation by offering all tickets for $20.
