TV: An Off-Stage and On-Stage Look at LA's NEXT GREAT STAGE STAR 2011

Following six weeks of fierce competition among 20 of California's finest young musical theatre performers, LA's Next Great Stage Star 2011 celebrated Judy Mora's outstanding victory at the 5th annual competition's glittering Finale on Sunday, February 6, presented by Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's, the most critically acclaimed, award-winning supper club of its kind in greater Los Angeles. Runners up included San Francisco's Michael David (2nd place); Matthew McFarland (3rd place); Emily Goglia (4th place); and Reba Buhr (5th place). Broadway World's Dean Butler was there to capture the three and a half hour event ... off and on stage - which also included a Special Guest Star performance by musical theatre, television star and pop composer/singer Blake McIver Ewing.

Glass Onion Theatre Presents ROMEO & JULIET and A MID SUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

This acquisition combines Glass Onion's preeminent creative and production management with the outstanding reputation and tradition established by Absolute Shakespeare during its 25-year history of presenting Shakespeare to middle and high school audiences.

TRACES Joins Jimmy Kimmel Live 2/7

TRACES, the high energy acrobatic spectacle which blends circus, physical theater, music and dance will make its national late night TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday February 7th on ABC.

Imagination Stage Presents PERSEUS BAYOU 2/5-3/13

Perseus Bayou runs February 5 through March 13 in the Annette M. and Theodore N. Lerner Family Theatre. On Thursday and Friday, January 27 and 28, the Grammy nominated Metropolis Ensemble presents Hallucinations: A mind-bending concert featuring the world premiere electronic-acoustic remix by Ricardo Romaneiro of John Corigliano's 'Three Hallucinations', based on his Academy Award-nominated film score to 'Altered States,' paired with music by Enrico Chapela and newly commissioned electronic-acoustic works by Du Yun, Gity Razaz, and Ricardo Romaniero.

Harris Theatre Features Renee Fleming, Pinchas Zuckerman, 3/9

On Wednesday, March 9, 2011, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance presents Fanfare for an Uncommon Woman: A Celebration of Joan W. Harris on Her Birthday, an extraordinary performance that is certain to be the musical event of the season. Preeminent soprano Renée Fleming and virtuoso violinist Pinchas Zukerman headline this exceptional concert to benefit Harris Theater programs. They will be joined by the spectacular Emerson String Quartet, acclaimed cellist David Finckel and impassioned pianist Wu Han of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the electrifying Escher String Quartet, and Stephen Burns, brilliant trumpeter and artistic director of the Fulcrum Point New Music Project.
