WAKE, written by New York-based Carey Crim, will have its west coast premiere presented by LA's critically acclaimed SeaGlass Theatre company today, April 26 through Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the beautiful Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena, CA, it was announced by Ovation nominated actor and SeaGlass Theatre Managing Director Paul Stroili, along with SeaGlass Artistic Director Kimberly Van Luin. WAKE'S five all-star member ensemble will feature Nancy Berggren, Alison Blanchard, Michael Connors, Allie Costa, and Lauren McCormack. Matt Kirkwood has been set to direct.

Science fiction/fantasy fans and authors will explore the subject of scientific ideas at this year's festivities at the 40th annual Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society convention on Thanksgiving weekend at the LAX Marriott. The annual panel will be moderated by the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future contest director Joni Labaqui and the panels will also include judges Todd McCaffrey, Tim Powers, and Gregory Benford. Several past winners of the contest will also participate, including 1991 Grand Prize winner James C. Glass, 2010 Grand Prize winner Laurie Tom, winners Brennan Harvey, and Scott T. Barnes.

Suede's special guests are the splendid Brighton-based indie rockers BRITISH SEA POWER, the title of whose current album, 'Machineries of Joy', was inspired by a collection of short stories by the great sci-fi author, Ray Bradbury. The band recently performed their soundtrack for the documentary film 'From the Land to the Sea', directed by Penny Woolcock, at the Sundance London Film and Music Festival at the 02 and at the Sheffield Documentary Festival. The forthcoming Broadway production REAR WINDOW has found its creative team in playwright Keith Reddin(Too Much Memory, Life and Limb) and director Terry Kinney (reasons to be pretty, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest).
