Like me you may have seen the original Broadway cast of Dreamgirls which opened in 1981 that won 6 Tony Awards and ran for four years. You also may have seen the star-studded 2006 film. So, the question remains, 'Should I or shouldn't I see the revival of this landmark musical directed by Robert Longbottom?' The answer is an unqualified yes.

Brian Stokes Mitchell visited The Today Show to sing a selection from his new CD/DVD 'Ring Christmas Bells.'
Mitchell also discussed his 'Lights on Broadway With brian Stokes Mitchell' children's book, a benefit for The Actors Fund. Each book comes with a CD single of 'I was Here.'

Theatre Southwest will present their production of David Lindsey-Abaire's play, WONDER OF THE WORLD, beginning December 31st with a special New Years Gala. The show will run through January 23rd. The cast for the production will include James Reed, Stacy A. Spaeth, Ananka Kohnitz, Cheryl Tanner, Brian Heaton, Jeanette Sebesta, and John Kaiser. The show is directed by David Holloway.

Gingold Theatrical Group made history as the first company to present every play (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches) written by George Bernard Shaw with its 44th PROJECT SHAW presentation, WHY SHE WOULD NOT -- the author's final and unfinished play -- on Monday, December 14 at 7pm at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. David Staller, who has produced and directed all of the Project Shaw readings during its initial four-year series, directed the evening.

The original cast recording of 'Vanities: A New Musical' will be released on December 15. The recording is produced by Joel Moss, and will feature Lauren Kennedy, Sarah Stiles, and Anneliese van der Pol. 'Vanities: A New Musical' is based on the original play 'Vanities' by Jack Heifner. SAN DIEGO REPERTORY THEATRE will presents THE SEAFARER, the comic-drama that has become a holiday hit on American stages across the country since its Broadway debut in 2007. Directed by DELICIA TURNER SONNENBERG, this rousing drama recounts the story of four lifelong friends who get together on Christmas Eve and end up making a bet with the devil in disguise. Performances begin in previews on Saturday, November 14, 2009, with an Opening Night performance on Friday, November 20 at 8pm and continue through December 13, 2009 at The Lyceum Theatre.
