Huntington Theatre Co Presents PRELUDE TO A KISS 5/14-6/13

The Huntington Theatre Company concludes its 28th season - a season of American stories - with the award-winning playwright Craig Lucas' modern classic Prelude to a Kiss. Peter and Rita are two young, happy lovers who are getting married. On their wedding day, an old man comes up to kiss the bride.

Mike Nichols Honored At The 38th Annual AFI Life Achievement Award 6/10

The American Film Institute and TV Land announced today that many of Hollywood's finest will be on hand to salute acclaimed and beloved film, television and stage director Mike Nichols when he receives the 38th AFI Life Achievement Award on June 10, 2010 on the historic Stage 15 at the Sony Pictures Studios.

Foster, Braff, Cannavale & Graynor Lead TRUST at 2nd Stage; Opens Aug. 12

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.

HBO's John Cazale Documentary to Feat. Streep, Hoffman et al. Tonight, 6/1

Tonight, June 1 at 8pm, HBO will air 'I Knew It Was You: Rediscovering John Cazale,' a documentary about actor John Cazale. Cazale appeared in 'The Godfather' (as Fredo Corleone), 'The Godfather: Part II,' 'The Conversation,' 'Dog Day Afternoon,' and 'The Deer Hunter.' The film will explore both Cazale's film credits and his background in the theater.

Powerhouse Announces Cast for WE ARE HERE & SAM BENDRIX AT THE BON SOIR

Vassar & New York Stage and Film is pleased to announce the cast of the world premiere play WE ARE HERE (June 29 - July 11) by Tracy Thorne, directed by Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller (Next Fall), the first of two fully-staged and designed Powerhouse Mainstage productions for the 2010 season.

Epic Theatre's THE PASSION PLAY Closes 5/30

New York's OBIE Award-winning Epic Theatre Ensemble (Zak Berkman, Melissa Friedman, Ron Russell, Founding Executive Directors) today announced the cast and creative team for the New York premiere of Sarah Ruhl's Passion Play (In The Next Room… or the vibrator play) and directed by Mark Wing-Davey (The Singing Forest). The cast will include Brendan Averett, Polly Noonan, Daniel Pearce, Alex Podulke, Keith Reddin, Godfrey L. Simmons Jr., T. Ryder Smith, Felix Solis Jr., Kate Turnbull and Nicole Wiesner.

Boeing-Boeing, the high-flying, Tony award-winning comedy that had Broadway and West End audiences airborne with laughter, is taking off on the Alley's Hubbard Stage, June 4 - June 27, 2010. Marc Camoletti's comedy, translated by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans is the final production of the Alley Theatre's 2009-2010 season.

Alban, Dumeng, Evans & More Lead Cast of LAByrinth's THE MONKEY SHOW

Casting is complete for Goodman Theatre's Chicago-premiere production of Tracey Scott Wilson's The Good Negro, directed by Resident Director Chuck Smith. Wilson and Smith have tapped nine actors to bring this historical drama to the Albert stage, including Karen Aldridge (Goodman's The Cook; Proof); Teagle F. Bougere (Broadway's A Raisin in the Sun; The Tempest); Tory O. Davis (Goodman's Magnolia); John Hoogenakker (Goodman's Rock 'n' Roll; Chicago Shakespeare's Othello); Billy Eugene Jones (Broadway's Passing Strange; Radio Golf); Nambi Kelley (Goodman's Crumbs from the Table of Joy; Victory Gardens' The Lost Boys of Sudan); Demetrios Troy (Northlight's Awake and Sing; Chicago Shakespeare's Richard III); Dan Waller (Goodman's Ghostwritten; Talking Pictures) and Mick Weber (Goodman's Rock 'n' Roll; Chicago Theatre's Shear Madness). The production will run from May 1 - June 6, 2010.

Hanks, Streep, Roberts & Cher Honor Mike Nichols with AFI Life Achievement Award, 6/10

The American Film Institute and TV Land announced today that American film's finest performers Cher, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are among the many in the arts and entertainment community who are scheduled to appear when AFI honors beloved film, television and stage director Mike Nichols with the AFI Life Achievement Award. The gala will take place on Thursday, June 10th in the historic Stage 15 on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, CA. 'TV Land Presents: The AFI Life Achievement Awards Honoring Mike Nichols' premieres on TV Land in June.
