Mary Zimmerman Returns to Berkeley Rep in WHITE SNAKE

This holiday season, Berkeley Repertory Theatre welcomes back a beloved artist for an alluring and hypnotic world-premiere production. Mary Zimmerman is mesmerizing. From Metamorphoses to The Arabian Nights, audiences have embraced her enchanting adaptations of epic tales. Now the Tony Award-winning director casts a spell with The White Snake, a classic romance from Chinese legend. As she falls for a charming young man, a snake spirit discovers what it means to be human. But a monk objects, and the bride must unveil her magical powers to save their love.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY Plays 5th Avenue Theatre for Halloween, 10/24-11/11

Just in time for Halloween, the first national tour of the new musical The Addams Family, will make its Seattle premiere October 24-November 11, 2012 at The 5th Avenue Theatre. Based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, this smash Broadway hit brings the darkly delirious world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and, of course, Lurch to spooky and spectacular life.

Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts 2013 Announces 50+ Partner Performances, 3/28-4/27

Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts announces today regional arts and cultural organizations participating in Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts 2013 (PIFA) returning to Philadelphia March 28 to April 27. Produced by the Kimmel Center, PIFA 2013 combines the creative talents of both large and small Philadelphia arts and culture organizations to create innovative and new works. The biennial city-wide festival's 2013 curatorial theme is If You Had a Time Machine…with 50+ events presented in Philadelphia.

Catherine Filloux's New Play LUZ Debuts at La MaMa, Now thru 10/14

LUZ-a new play by Catherine Filloux (DOG AND WOLF, LEMKIN'S HOUSE)-will be given its world-premiere production this fall, with previews beginning tonight, September 28 prior to an official press opening October 4 at La MaMa's First Floor Theatre (74A E. 4 St.) in Manhattan. LUZ is a Watson Arts Project, which presents original theater with a particular emphasis on women. LUZ is scheduled to run through October 14.

Estelle Parsons and Larry Pine Head Casts of Fall 2012 AdA at La MaMa, Beg. Tonight, 9/28

AdA (Author directing Author)-an evening comprised of new one act plays by American playwright Neil LaBute and Italian playwright Marco Calvani, in which each playwright will direct the other's work-will be presented by La MaMa at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) in Manhattan, with preview performances starting tonight, September 28 prior to an official press opening Sunday, September 30. The celebrated stage and film actor Larry Pine stars in Mr. LaBute's play LOVELY HEAD, directed by Mr. Calvani. The Oscar winning actress and four-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons stars in Mr. Calvani's play THINGS OF THIS WORLD directed by Mr. LaBute.

Ute Lemper Debuts Pablo Neruda Song Cycle At Joe's Pub, 10/4

On October 4 at 7 PM, world-renowned, classically trained German cabaret singer and Broadway star Ute Lemper will debut a new, original song cycle inspired by the love poems of 20th century Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973). Conceived and composed by Lemper herself in collaboration with Marcelo Nisinman, Ute Lemper Sings Pablo Neruda will continue at Joe's Pub throughout the month of October with dates on October 4, 5, 6, 30 and 31. Joining Lemper for the run at Joe's Pub are Tito Castro and JP Jofre on Bandoneon, John Benthal on Guitar, Steve Millhouse on Bass and Andy Ezrin on Piano.

SOLDIER SONGS to Make NYC Premiere at HERE's PROTOTYPE Festival, 1/11-13

Looking ahead to winter, David T. Little's evening-length multi-media music-theatre work, Soldier Songs (2006), receives its New York City premiere as part of BMP and HERE's inaugural PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival January 11-13 + 16-18, 2013, showcasing pioneering work by a new generation of opera-theatre and music-theatre composers. Created and composed by Little, Soldier Songs is based on recorded interviews with veterans of five wars, with a libretto adapted by the composer.

Jim Fletcher and Kate Moran Star in Pascal Rambert's LOVE'S END, 10/10-13

The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, and the Abrons Arts Center, present the American premiere of Love's End, from writer and director Pascal Rambert, as part of the 2012 Crossing the Line festival. This unraveling of a broken relationship features Kate Moran, currently a featured performer in Einstein on the Beach, and Obie Award-winner Jim Fletcher, best known for his work in Elevator Repair Service's Gatz and Richard Maxwell's New York City Players.

Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center Launches 10th Season with L.A. DANCE PROJECT, 9/22-23

Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center will kick-off its 2012-2013 10th Anniversary season with its commission of the inaugural full-length program by L.A. Dance Project founded by acclaimed choreographer Benjamin Millepied. The L.A. Dance Project commission will have its premiere performances tonight, September 22 and 23, 2012 at The Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Original Chicago Cast Set for METAMORPHOSES at Lookingglass Theatre, Beginning Previews Tonight, 9/19

Lookingglass Theatre Company will open its 25th Anniversary Season with Metamorphoses, based on the Myths of Ovid, written and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman. The show will play tonight, September 19 - September 28, 2012. The return of Lookingglass' seminal production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway run, will open at Lookingglass in the fall of 2012 and will then move to Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage.

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues the 2012-13 season of its Composer Portraits series with the works of eminent composer Jonathan Harvey, featuring Ensemble Signal with Brad Lubman, conductor. Ensemble Signal gives voice to two of the British composer's spiritual tours-de-force in this moving Portrait-Death of Light/Light of Death (1998) and Bhakti (1982).

THE ADDAMS FAMILY Announces New Tour Dates for Fall 2012; Curtis Holbrook Joins Cast as 'Lucas Beineke'!

Producers of THE ADDAMS FAMILY announced additional dates today for the Fall 2012 leg of the musical's North American tour. The production will play Dallas (Oct. 2 - 21), Seattle (Oct. 24 - Nov. 11), Salt Lake City (Nov. 13 - 18), Las Vegas (Nov.20 - 25), Tempe (Dec. 11 - 16) and Costa Mesa (Dec. 18 - 30). Plus, Curtis Holbrook (West Side Story, Xanadu) will join the cast of the national tour as "Lucas Beineke."
