BWW Review: THE ARSONISTS is Incendiary at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company

Do you ever feel like we're all just sitting around watching the world burn? If you would like to do that in the presence of like-minded theatre goers, then head down to Woolly Mammoth and experience the sensation that is THE ARSONISTS. Written by Max Frisch in 1958 and commonly interpreted as a metaphor for the rise of Communism and Nazism, this new translation by Alistair Beaton directed by Michael John Garc s feels frighteningly contemporary.

Woolly Mammoth's 38th Season Kicks Off with THE ARSONISTS

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company announces the first production of its 2017-2018 season, The Arsonists by Swiss playwright Max Frisch, in a new translation by Alistair Beaton, directed by Michael John Garces. The Arsonists will run from September 5 to October 8, 2017. The Arsonists is made possible by a generous grant from The Roy Cockrum Foundation.

Triad Stage, a professional, not-for-profit, regional theater in Greensboro, NC,  will stage the North Carolina debut of a new one-woman play that traces the path of a young Cherokee woman's great-great grandparents who were forced to relocate from their homelands in the 1830s along the Trail of Tears. Created and performed by DeLanna Studi (Cherokee Nation) and produced and directed by Corey Madden, AND SO WE WALKED: An Artist's Journey Along the Trail of Tears, previews from April 19-21, opens on April 22, and runs through April 30 at the Hanesbrands Theatre, 209 Spruce Street North in Winston-Salem, NC. The eighth play in Cornerstone's Hunger Cycle, fellowship is a performance that immerses the audience into the role of volunteer. At fellowship, you will be invited to help prepare and assemble sack lunches to be distributed to hungry people in Los Angeles.

The new season opens with Hastie directing William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar bringing Shakespeare back to the Crucible; this will be followed in the Studio by the winner of the new annual RTST Director Award Scheme Kate Hewitt directing the regional premiere of Nina Raine's Tribes.

Dress rehearsals for this year's Stage Experience production of the Wizard of Oz started off with a bark today as cast members welcomed a real life Toto to the stage of Theatre Royal. After weeks of searching for the perfect Cairn Terrier, Angus, who lives with Sara Hollaran and Eunice Smith of Pollock, Glasgow got stuck into life as an actor this morning ahead of the curtain going up on Oz tomorrow at 7pm. Wilson Center for the Arts are proud to present the 10th Annual High School Summer Musical Theatre Experience!  This program provides theatre opportunities to 7th-12th graders in the First Coast area and allows them to work hands-on with some of the highest recognized local and regional theatre professionals.
