Pasadena Playhouse to Host Events For Jazz Institute Beginning in May 2010

Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) today announced that the State Theater of California will host events beginning in May 2010 for Pasadena Jazz Institute, Lyric Opera and Blair IB School, as the organization continues its process of financial reorganization.

Live Music Returns to 61st Primetime Emmy Awards, Airs 9/20

For the first time since 2004, the 61st PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS will feature a live band as part of the telecast, being broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 20 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The 17-piece band includes guitarists Dean Parks (America, Steely Dan), Ray Parker, Jr. (Raydio, 'Ghostbusters'), keyboardist Michael Bearden (Michael Jackson's last music director), Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Tom Scott, bassist Darryl Jones (The Rolling Stones) and percussionist Lenny Castro (Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton). The all-star ensemble will be on-stage throughout the show.

Veteran Producer Tony Adams Dies of Stroke at 52

Tony Adams, the veteran film and stage producer whose credits include Blake Edwards' Pink Panther hits, S.O.B. '10,' and the film and stage versions of Victor/Victoria died Saturday, October 22nd, of a stroke at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was 52 years old.
