The 32nd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards for the 2010/2011 season were handed out in a star-studded ceremony in Toronto on the evening of Monday, June 27 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts' Bluma Appel Theatre, co-hosted by Gemini-nominated comedian/writer/actor Craig Lauzon of CBC-TV's Royal Canadian Air Farce and actress Michaela Washburn, Dora-nominated for her principal role in Theatre Passe Muraille's Such Creatures.

Billy Elliot the Musical begins its San Francisco engagement tonight at the Orpheum Theatre (1192 Market Street at 8th). This multi-award winning smash hit musical concludes the 2010- 2011 Best of Broadway series under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hays. Billy Elliot the Musical, produced by Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions, is based on the international smash-hit film.

Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that Patrick Mulvey will join the cast of the 10-time Tony Award winning Billy Elliot the Musical in the role of ‘Tony.' Mulvey began his journey as the original ‘Tony' in the Chicago production of Billy Elliot. He comes to the Broadway company direct from the Toronto production of Billy Elliot. Current ‘Tony' Will Chase will play his final performance Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 7:30pm. Mulvey's first performance is scheduled for Friday, July 15 at 7:30pm.

Over the coming weeks, five Canadian actors will join the cast, three in major roles.

At a press conference held June 7 at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 171 nominations for 197 eligible productions that opened between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011 for the 32nd annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards which honour excellence in the performing arts in Toronto.

Now in its 7th year, National Dance Week-NYC (NDW-NYC), a yearly festival that advocates dance conditioning and wellness, will offer more than 100 FREE dance, fitness and wellness classes over the course of 10 days, starting June 17, 2011. Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that Giuseppe Bausilio will join the cast of the 10-time Tony Award winning Billy Elliot the Musical in the role of ‘Billy'. Bausilio started his journey as one of the original ‘Billys' in the Chicago production of Billy Elliot. He went on to join the national touring production and has played 'Billy' in 10 cities across the country since the tour began in October 2010. Bausilio will be the fourteenth ‘Billy' to perform on Broadway. Current ‘Billy' Jacob Clemente will play his final performance Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 7:30pm. Bausilio's first performance will be announced soon.

Today, 13 April 2011, twelve year old Ryan Collinson from Southport, becomes the twenty-sixth boy to play the title role in the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical. Ryan becomes the 56th boy to play Billy Elliot worldwide since Jamie Bell in the award-winning film.
