Ballet Preljocaj's SNOW WHITE Makes Chicago Debut at Harris Theater This Weekend

France's leading contemporary dance ensemble, Ballet Preljocaj, based in Aix-en-Provence, will perform the Chicago debut of the company's mercurial Snow White, a modern take on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, choreographed by company Artistic Director and Bessie Award-winner Angelin Preljocaj with costumes by legendary Haute Couture designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Performance dates for this limited engagement are tonight, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at 7:30PM and Sunday, May 4 at 2PM at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.

France's leading contemporary dance ensemble, Ballet Preljocaj, based in Aix-en-Provence, will perform the Chicago debut of the company's mercurial Snow White, a modern take on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, choreographed by company Artistic Director and Bessie Award-winner Angelin Preljocaj with costumes by legendary Haute Couture designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Performance dates for this limited engagement are Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at 7:30PM and Sunday, May 4 at 2PM at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. The Harris Theater is one of only three venues that will present Snow White during the company's U.S. tour, which will also include performances at New York's Lincoln Center and the Los Angeles Music Center. Composer and Conductor Ennio Morricone Suffers Back Injury; Postpones LA, Brooklyn Shows to June 2014

The Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who turned 85 in November, has suffered a back injury that has forced the postponement of concerts originally dated March 20 in Los Angeles and March 23 in Brooklyn. The shows have been rescheduled for June 13 at Cushman & Wakefield Theater at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and June 15 at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, where he will conduct an ensemble of 200 musicians and singers in performances of his legendary film scores. The concerts will be, respectively, his first New York appearance since 2007 and his first-ever Los Angeles concert.

Ennio Morricone, conducting an ensemble of 200 musicians and singers, will have a single performance at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 8 pm. This concert marks the legendary Morricone's first Los Angeles performance. Morricone has composed the scores for more than 450 films including five of Sergio Leone's westerns -- A Fistful of Dollars; For a Few Dollars More; The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly; Once Upon a Time in the West and A Fistful of Dynamite - and The Battle of Algiers; Sacco and Vanzetti; Cinema Paradiso; 1900, Malena; The Untouchables; Once Upon A Time in America; The Mission; U-Turn; The Unknown Woman; and The Best Offer, among hundreds of others.

Submissions Now Being Accepted for Fifth Annual United Solo Theatre Festival

The fifth annual United Solo Theatre Festival invites local and international artists to submit their shows to the world's largest solo theatre festival. World premieres and already-produced shows are equally welcome. Submitted proposals may represent storytelling, improv, dance, musical, puppetry, multimedia, stand-up, magic, tragedy, comedy, and other forms of solo performance. Selected shows will be presented between September 18 and November 23, 2014 at Theatre Row in New York City. The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 3, 2014.
