Following their critically-acclaimed and diverse spring programme of new writing which included the much-lauded WINK and Sense of an Ending, Theatre503's autumn season stages four hugely diverse new plays. As well as supporting new writers, Jon Brittain is also welcomed back to Theatre503 after the success of Margaret Thatcher: Queen of Soho. Plus, back by popular demand, Sleeping Trees will mark the end of the season and their residency at Theatre503 with a festive treat.
Dark Comedy ALLIE to Premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, August 5

ALLIE, a new dark comedy written and performed by Edinburgh born actor Ruaraidh Murray, will be Murray's first ever two-hander alongside Edinburgh born actress Megan Shandley. This will premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at the Gilded Balloon, Wednesday 5 - Monday 31 August 2015.
Theatre503 Reveals Winners of First Playwriting Award

The inaugural Theatre503 Playwriting Award took a surprise turn today as the judges announced not one but two winners of the much sought-after prize, which had received over 1,600 hopeful applications from 41 countries. Due to the generosity of The Richard Carne Trust and an anonymous donor, Theatre503 was able to offer both playwrights a substantial prize of £6,000 and the guaranteed production of their work at the Battersea venue in 2015.

The award-winning fringe venue Theatre503 has announced full casting for their SECOND LOOK production of Billy Roche's play A HAND FULL OF STARS. As previously announced Coronation Street actor and Boyzone star Keith Duffy (BIG MAGGIE, Druid Theatre Company) is to make his London stage debut as Stapler. Joining Keith will be actors Ciaran Owens (OH WHAT A LOVELY WAR at Stratford East and OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD for Out of Joint) as Jimmy, Michael O'Connor (ONCE, Phoenix Theatre) as Swan and Brian Fenton (THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, Noel Coward Theatre) as Tony. Artistic Director Paul Robinson's production will run at Battersea's Theatre503 from Wednesday 30 April until Saturday 24 May 2014.

Coronation Street actor and Boyzone star Keith Duffy is to make his professional stage debut at the award-winning new writing venue Theatre503 in Battersea. Keith will play Stapler the Irish boxer, in Artistic Director Paul Robinson's SECOND LOOK revival of Billy Roche's 1988 play A HANDFUL OF STARS. The production will run at Theatre503 (the smallest venue in the UK to receive an Olivier Award) from Wednesday 30 April until Saturday 24 May 2014.

Battersea's new writing powerhouse - Theatre503 - announces a season of groundbreaking plays for spring 2014. Kicking off from the 14 January is an adaptation of Abe Kobo's 1962 Japanese novel WOMAN IN THE DUNES, followed by the previously announced world premiere of A WORLD ELSEWHERE by Times journalist Alan Franks - a thrilling play where Oxford University, Richard Nixon and the Vietnam War all collide. Full casting for A WORLD ELSEWHERE includes Michael Swatton (Maid of Bankside, Jermyn Street Theatre) as headstrong student Elliott, and Crispian Cartwright (Judgement at Nuremberg) and Oxford professor Mayhew.

Menagerie Theatre Company in association with Theatre503 will present highlights from this years' Hotbed Cambridge Festival of New Writing with a season entitled HOTBED FESTIVAL DOUBLE BILL. Headlining will be Steve Waters' (Bush Theatre, Donmar) new one-act play WHY CAN'T WE LIVE TOGETHER? - exploring the lives of an ordinary couple sketched against the backdrop of the extraordinary world events from 2000-2013. Theatre503, Euan Borland Productions and Tara Finney Productions present the debut full-length play by resident writer Chris Urch - Land of our Fathers. Set during Thatcher's Britain and directed by Artistic Director Paul Robinson, this darkly comic drama looks at the dramatic two weeks of a group of Welsh miners who are trapped underground in a collapsed coal mine. It will run at Theatre503, above The Latchmere in Battersea, between 17 September and 12 October 2013.
