The Drama Desk Award-winning Celebrity Autobiography returns to the Triad Theater for a new season with a new edition, Celebrity Autobiography: The Next Chapter, beginning Monday, October 3. Celebrity Autobiography: The Next Chapter will play five performances throughout October-Monday, October 3 at 7pm; Monday, October 10 at 7pm; Saturday, October 15 at 7pm; Monday, October 24 at 7pm; and Monday, October 31 at 7pm-at the Triad Theater, 158 West 72 Street.

Write-On!, a series of new plays written by Acting Company Alumni will be performed as staged readings at 7 pm on October 3, 10, 17, 31 and November 7 at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues.

Broadway-bound Patti LuPOne recently chatted with the LA Times about people who have influenced and inspired her throughout her career. On Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim, LuPone said: 'He's a task master when it comes to pitch and what is considered Broadway singing -- no bending of the note, no swooping. I was in 'Company' this year at the New York Philharmonic -- at the after-party, he gave me a note and I wanted to smack him. Well, I didn't want to smack him. But this was two hours after the production closed.'

Two-Time Tony Nominee Alison Fraser and Jill Shackner join previously announced actress Alysia Reiner in A CHARITY CASE. This new play about adoption by Australian playwright and director Wendy Beckett, will open Wednesday, November 2nd at Off Broadway's Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th and 10th Avenues). The play, which is also directed by Ms. Beckett, begins previews Friday, October 28th. The play is produced by Peter Walters for Pascal Productions. A CHARITY CASE is third in a series of Ms. Beckett's plays that Pascal Productions will produce in New York.

One of the central joys of GLEE for theatre fans is the constant stream of top-tier triple-threat talent on display, oftentimes the very best and brightest stars on Broadway - and the epic return of Idina Menzel on GLEE last night was certainly a cause celebre of the highest order on that accord. While Idina's WICKED co-star Kristin Chenoweth has certainly made more appearances over the seasons - and racked up Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her splendid work, as well; as recently as in the Season 2 finale and the "Rumours" Fleetwood Mac tribute episode - it is Menzel who has a pivotal role in the story of the show in a way perhaps no other guest star does: she plays Rachel Berry's estranged mother, Shelby. While the physical similarities in the appearance of Menzel and Lea Michele are easy to see (and, in some ways, hear) - although they bare no actual relation - it is in their masterful musical marriage that some of the best moments of GLEE arise and have arisen in the past - many the most heart-breaking and heart-warming among them. "Poker Face" is the gold standard by which every other duet is held up to since Season One and their take on the LES MIZ (and Susan Boyle) classic "I Dreamed A Dream" fulfilled the promise of its title for every Broadway baby - and even Idina's "Funny Girl" left a little footprint on our hearts. Yet, what about these two titanic Broadway leading ladies taking on one of the most well-known and best-loved musical theatre songs of all time - from one of the greatest musicals ever written, no less - "Somewhere" from WEST SIDE STORY? Furthermore, what about Chris Colfer essaying yet another grand dame show-stopping number, this time in the form of FUNNY GIRL'S "I'm The Greatest Star"? And, most of all, how did the hotly anticipated performance by Darren Criss of the WEST SIDE STORY staple "Something's Coming" come off - a song that had its audio world premiere in this very column this weekend - and did it ultimately pan out onscreen on GLEE as stupendously as it sounded it would? Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, two Broadway legends who first appeared together giving Tony Award winning performances in Evita, will bring their critically acclaimed theatre concert to the Barrymore Theatre for 63 performances only beginning Wednesday, November 16 at 8pm through Friday, January 13.
