Now, still riding the accolades and buzz of his 2017 breakthrough album Reminiscence - which debuted at #5 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart - the multi-talented 24 year old guitar virtuoso is set to make his NYC debut as a headliner at the famed Club Bonafide Today, August 9.

For the sixth consecutive year, singers from around the world will compete online for a coveted spot in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, a 21st century version of the amateur night at the Apollo Theater that helped launch the career of a gifted teenager from Newark, Sarah 'Sassy' Vaughan, more than 70 years ago.

"The Bridges of Madison County" captured the nation's attention in 1992 as a best-selling novel, then again in 1995 as a major motion picture.  It is a compelling, two-time Tony Award-winning musical now on stage at Peninsula Players through August 13.  "The Bridges of Madison County" is the touching story of Francesca, a lovely Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy. She is looking forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm as her family heads to the 1965 Indiana State Fair when ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid pulls into her driveway seeking directions. What happens in those next four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life.

Acclaimed Canadian jazz singer/songwriter and first runner up in the 2013 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Voice Competition Barbra Lica will be returning to New York on Sunday, June 11 with her quintet to perform songs from her new album, "I'm Still Learning" at legendary jazz club, Birdland.  

Jazz aficionados are often concerned with lineages within the music and the passing of the torch. There aren't many musicians left who have witnessed and assisted in the development of jazz and improvised music as much as saxophonist Lee Konitz has.
