New Conservatory Theatre Center welcomes back the Hollywood glamour and camp hilarity of Charles Busch with the Bay Area Premiere of Die! Mommie, Die!.

REDCAT, CalArts' Downtown Center for Contemporary Arts, located in the Walt Disney Concert Hall Complex is renowned for its innovative visual, performing and multimedia arts programming. In the Fall of 2014 REDCAT begins its second decade presenting the most influential artists from around the world, as well as Los Angeles' own creative voices.

The 34th Mainstage season of plays and musicals at the Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts at Northwestern University features award-winning directors and playwrights, acclaimed alumnae and faculty, groundbreaking plays and musicals and The Waa-Mu Show. The season reflects on the evolving definitions of family and community and invites audiences to embrace the circumstances that unite and strengthen us.

The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announced today the complete schedule for the 25th Anniversary Fall Festival, 112 events which will explore the theme of Journeys, Oct. 25-Nov. 9, 2014, with pre-Festival programs on Oct. 6 and 21, at venues across Chicago.

HelikonRep announced that it will produce the world premiere of THE SUN EXPERIMENT, by NYTW Emerging Playwright of Color CATHERINE YU, at the 18th annual New York International Fringe Festival. Inspired by Shakespeare's Twelfth Nightand named for 20th century philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein's theory on the rotation of the sun, THE SUN EXPERIMENT will be directed by HelikonRep Artistic Director and Drama League Directing FellowELENA HEYMAN.

The Mill returns to Chicago with a new theatrical adaptation of the classic Feminist short story The Yellow Wallpaper, written in the 1890s by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. This modern adaptation by Lorelei Sturm features the poetic language of the literary work brought to life using innovative movement based staging.

59E59 Theaters will welcome Chicago's A Red Orchid Theatre, in association with Bisno Productions, with the NYC premiere of THE OPPONENT, written by Brett Neveu and directed by Karen Kessler. THE OPPONENT begins performances on Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 7. Press opening is Wednesday, August 6 at 7:30 PM.

This fall, the Lyric Opera Chorus will give two special concerts that will feature the world-class ensemble performing operatic excerpts from Lyric's 60th-anniversary season. Led by Chorus Master Michael Black, the Chorus will perform at Chicago's Fourth Presbyterian Church (North Michigan Avenue and Delaware Place) on Friday, September 12 at 7 pm and at Evanston's Alice Millar Chapel (1870 N. Sheridan Rd.) on Saturday, November 22 at 3 pm.

Ceremony, an award winning, critically acclaimed solo show about love, fear and Ayahuasca, written & performed by Michael Kass & directed by Diana Wyenn, is coming to the Chicago Fringe Festival for three performances only: August 30 at 4 PM; August 31 at 10 PM; and September 1 at 7 PM.

Lookingglass Theatre, Frontera Grill and Silverguy Entertainment announce an extension to the wildly popular return of Rick Bayless in Cascabel: Dinner -- Daring -- Desire, the unforgettable theatrical adventure featuring a sumptuous feast, world-class circus acts, and a tantalizing love story starring celebrity chef Rick Bayless that had Chicago audiences spellbound when it premiered in spring 2012. The extremely limited engagement is co-created by Rick Bayless, Lookingglass Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman (Hephaestus, The Brothers Karamazov, Hard Times), and Artistic Associate and founder of Silverguy Entertainment Tony Hernandez (Hephaestus, Lookingglass Alice). Polarity Ensemble Theatre will award the 2014 Dionysos Cup to Chicago playwright Kristiana Rae Colon for her new play OCTAGON, which is set in the world of slam poetry competitions. The play was selected as one of four finalist plays to be developed in Polarity's annual Dionysos Cup Festival of New Plays. Over seventy plays by Chicago-area playwrights were submitted to the festival. Finalist plays were selected by committee and the winning play voted upon by audience members and Polarity staff. OCTAGON was also recently awarded the Arizona Latino Playwrights Award that carries a prize of $1000.

New Repertory Theatre announces the final show of the 30th Anniversary Season, the Next Rep World Premiere: SCENES FROM AN ADULTERY by Ronan Noone, June 6 through June 21, 2015 at the Boston University Theatre, Lane-Comley Studio 210. SCENES FROM AN ADULTERY is co-presented with Boston Center for American Performance (BCAP).
