Kaufman Music Center's education/enrichment programs are taking center stage in April's world premiere online streams. Conrad Tao's ongoing Performance as Process series reveals the composer/pianist's creative process as he prepares for his Ecstatic Music concert in May (April 28).

Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced The New Classics: Songs from the New Golden Age of Musical Theater, a virtual cabaret starring Broadway’s Gavin Creel, Nikki Renée Daniels, and Norm Lewis, plus Amanda Castro, Jenn Gambatese, Jo Lampert, and Heath Saunders, with David Chase as music director and featuring members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra.

Fellowship for Performing Arts will present Easter Passion, an online experience of Jesus' last days through Scripture and song, premiering Palm Sunday, March 28. Joining award-winning actor Max McLean are Broadway artists Nikki Renée Daniels, Alan H. Green, Jeff Kready, Telly Leung, Diane Phelan, Marty Thomas, and Kay Trinidad.

Kaufman Music Center’s virtual Broadway Close Up performances will continue this spring with two intimate lecture-concerts exploring the lives, careers and music of Kay Swift and one of the longest-running collaborations in show business history, Fred Ebb and John Kander.

Mill Girls follows a year in the life of Agnes, a weaver who transforms from farmer's daughter to poet with the encouragement of her fellow mill girls and from poet to activist when the corporation lengthens the workday.

Lynn Ahrens has created lyrics for award winning songs for Broadway, Hollywood, and television earning Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, in addition to Academy Award, Grammy Award and Golden Globe nominations.

It is said that Jule Styne published over 1,500 songs in his lifetime, a staggering number that spans decades and includes some of the biggest hits in the history of popular song. His lyricists were such names as Frank Loesser ('I Don't Want To Walk Without You'), Sammy Cahn ('It's Magic'), Betty Comden & Adolph Green ('Just in Time'), and more.

In a loose song cycle format, this program will weave his work with the charming and witty creations of daughter Mary Rodgers (Once Upon a Mattress) and the complex and extraordinary palette of grandson Adam Guettel (The Light in the Piazza, Floyd Collins ), as we look toward the progression of musicals over the decades and into the future.

On Monday, June 1 (4 - 8 pm EDT), the entire Kaufman Music Center community will come together for a Day of Musical Action, a special online event featuring performances by students and faculty from all of the Center's programs, including Special Music School, Lucy Moses School, Face the Music and Luna Composition Lab.

The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, paid tribute to Nat King Cole's centennial with Unforgettable: Celebrating Nat King Cole and Friends on Friday, February 8 at Carnegie Hall.

In honor of Nat King Cole and the musical monarch's centennial The New York Pops will perform all the songs that made us fall in L-O-V-E with Nat King Cole at tonight's concert. Abingdon Theatre Company held their special one-night-only gala event on Monday, October 22 at The Edison Ballroom. The evening, honoring two-time Tony Award winner Donna Murphy (Hello, Dolly!; Passion; Wonderful Town), was hosted by Randy Rainbow.

Yellow Sound Label has announced the release of the new studio cast recording of Kris Kringle The Musical on Friday, February 16. Kris Kringle is the brand-new Christmas musical which made its New York debut at Town Hall in November 2017.
