52nd Street Project Concludes Season With BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE, 6/1 & 2

Now approaching the end of their first year in the program, the current ensemble will present Bringing Down the House, an evening of six one-acts written for the kids by theater professionals tonight June 1 and tomorrow June 2 at the Project's Five Angels Theater (789 Tenth Avenue, NYC).

MILK LIKE SUGAR Closes 11/27

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director), Women's Project (Julie Crosby, Producing Artistic Director) and La Jolla Playhouse (Christopher Ashley, Artistic Director; Michael S. Rosenberg, Managing Director) has announced a one-week extension of its critically-acclaimed, sold out New York premiere production of MILK LIKE SUGAR, a new play by Kirsten Greenidge, directed by Rebecca Taichman. Originally set to play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 20, the production extended through Sunday, November 27 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). The additional week represents the only extension possible.

Classical Theatre of Harlem Closes SEED, 8/19

On the precipice of closing its doors, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, under new leadership, faced economic & administrative challenges head on, in order to maintain its status as a unique cultural gem in Harlem. The past eight months have been dedicated to reviving the theatre's health & viability. Although the production season was in hiatus, CTH launched 'Project Classics,' bringing free theatre to the children & residents of Grant & Manhattanville public housing. SEED, by Radha Blank, marks CTH's first return to the Harlem School of the Arts since 2006. This Workshop Production is directed by Niegel Smith.

Public Extends BROTHER/SISTER Plays Thru 12/20

Following enthusiastic reviews, The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will extend THE BROTHER/SISTER PLAYS, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau and Robert O'Hara, through Sunday, December 20. THE BROTHER/SISTER PLAYS began previews October 21 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 13.
