A Staged Reading Of DOG SEES GOD By Burt V. Royal

ETERNAL EQUINOX to Receive NY Premiere at 59E59 Theaters, Begins 3/1

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes Grove Theater Center (Los Angeles, CA) with the New York City premiere of ETERNAL EQUINOX, written by Joyce Hokin Sachs and directed by Kevin Cochran.

Photo Flash: First Look at Old Globe's SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

The Old Globe today announced principal casting for the Globe's 2012 Shakespeare Festival. Craig Noel Award winner Jay Whittaker returns to the Festival for his third consecutive season to appear in the title role of William Shakespeare's Richard III. He will also appear as Oliver in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Also returning to the Festival are Craig Noel Award winner Robert Foxworth and Adrian Sparks, who will take to the courtroom floor as titanic lawyers Henry Drummond and Matthew Harrison Brady, respectively, in the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee classic Inherit the Wind. Foxworth, an Old Globe Associate Artist, will also play Lord Hastings in Richard III, and Sparks will play Lord Mayor of London in Richard III and Corin in As You Like It. Festival veteran Dana Green will star as Rosalind, and Dan Amboyer, new to the Festival stage, will play Orlando, the object of her affections, in As You Like It. Green will also play Queen Elizabeth in Richard III. Amboyer will also be featured as Bertram Cates in Inherit the Wind and the Earl of Richmond in Richard III. Festival newcomer Jacques C. Smith will play Jacques in As You Like It, the Duke of Buckingham in Richard III and Mr. Meeker in Inherit the Wind. Adrian Noble returns for his third outing as Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Festival and will helm As You Like It and Inherit the Wind. Renowned British director Lindsay Posner makes his debut at the Globe with his production of Richard III. Noble recently directed the World Premiere stage version of The King's Speech, which is currently touring England, and Posner's hit revival of Noises Off is currently playing at London's Old Vic and will transfer to the West End in March. The 2012 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre, runs June 3 - Sept. 30, 2012.

New Musical: Boy in the Bathroom at the Bloomington Playwrights Project

The Boy in the Bathroom, by Michael Lluberes, follows David, a young man who lives in his bathroom. He never comes out, at least not for the past year. David has obsessive-compulsive disorder and he's not going anywhere... until he meets Julie, and discovers that there might be something - or someone - on the other side of the door that will make it worth opening.

DreamStem Productions Presents Reading of Exposure, 1/28

Exposure is a new play, written by Michael Bradley and directed by Leah Benavides. A staged reading of the new work will be held January 28th 2012 as a part of DreamStem Productions' reading series, Dreams on the Page.

FringeNYC 2012 Applications Now Available

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present the 16th Annual Festival from August 10th - 26th, 2012. Each year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. General FringeNYC applications are being accepted for participants in all genres (theatre, dance, puppetry, performance art, multi-media, etc.), and separate FringeAL FRESCO (free outdoor events) and FringeJR (children's programming) applications are also available. Applications are now available online at www.fringenyc.organd completed applications are due February 14, 2012.

Playlab NYC Presents 'Poe-Dunk - A Matchbox Entertainment' as Part of FRIGID New York

Playlab NYC will present Poe-Dunk - A Matchbox Entertainment as a part of the 2012 FRIGID New York Festival. Poe-Dunk is an itty-bitty puppet repertoire of obscure curios, marginalia, and even a couple popular classics from America's most versatile writer. It is conceived and performed by Playlab NYC's artistic director Kevin P. Hale and directed by John Pieza. Originally a part of the 15th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, this production promises an enjoyable time with opening night Wednesday, February 22nd at 6:30pm.

WHO LOVES YOU, BABY? at the Huron Club Resumes Performances Tonight

It was a highlight of the 2011 New York International Fringe Festival, and for the past three months Who Loves You, Baby? has thrilled packed audiences at The Huron Club at The SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). The show was originally slated to close on December 30, but due to popular demand, Tom DiMenna will resume his nightly resurrections of bald-headed sex symbol Telly Savalas three times a week beginning January 18 and carrying on through April 2012.
