Ryan Silverman, Tony DeSare & More to Join New York Pops for LET'S BE FRANK Next Month

On April 10, 2015 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops will close its 32nd subscription season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, with four of today's finest entertainers - Tony DeSare, Storm Large, Frankie Moreno, and Ryan Silverman - in a celebration of the centennial of America's original idol, Frank Sinatra.

On Site Opera Launches THE FIGARO PROJECT With THE BARBER OF SEVILLE, THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO AND THE GUILTY MOTHER

On Site Opera has garnered considerable acclaim for its immersive, site-specific productions since stage director Eric Einhorn founded it just three years ago. This summer, the company kicks off its most ambitious undertaking to date:The Figaro Project. On Site Opera will offer lesser-known operatic adaptations of French playwright Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais' (1732-1799) famed trilogy of Figaro plays: The Barber of Seville (1775), The Marriage of Figaro (1784) and The Guilty Mother(1792). The Figaro Project will reacquaint audiences with their favorite Beaumarchais' characters in new and unexpected ways in non-traditional venues across New York City.

Mimi Bessette, Jesse Lenat & More to Lead DUCK COMMANDER MUSICAL in Las Vegas; Full Cast Set!

After a nationwide search, full casting for the highly anticipated production, DUCK COMMANDER MUSICAL, is now available. Based on the best-selling book The Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson, preview performances for DUCK COMMANDER MUSICAL will begin April 8. The production will make its world premiere at the Crown Theater inside Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on April 15. The talented cast features Broadway veterans and Las Vegas locals who will join the company in celebration of the Robertson family's rags-to- riches story.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its exhilarating 57th season with the Kansas City premiere of composer Kevin Puts' 2012 Pulitzer Prize-winning opera, Silent Night, beginning tomorrow, February 21 and continuing February 25 & 27 and March 1 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Preview San Francisco Opera's DREAM OF THE RED CHAMBER World Premiere This Weekend

San Francisco Opera today announced two key artistic personnel for the Company's world premiere commission, Dream of the Red Chamber by renowned Chinese-American composer Bright Sheng (Madame Mao, The Silver River). Premiering Fall 2016 at the War Memorial Opera House, Dream of the Red Chamber will be conducted by American maestro George Manahan and staged by celebrated Taiwanese director Stan Lai in his Company debut.

Segerstrom Center to Welcome the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, 4/15

The renowned Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts in a remarkable program titled Passionate Piano Quartets, pairing three works by Schumann, Brahms and the rarely performed Mahler Piano Quartet, which is the composer's only surviving instrumental chamber work, written while still a teenager. Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is soon embarking on a North American tour that will include 11 cities and their visit to Segerstrom Center on April 15 in Samueli Theater will be the quartet's sole West Coast appearance.

Co-Artistic Directors Louisa Proske andEthan Heard, who trained together in the Directing program at the Yale School of Drama, are committed to nurturing the actor in every singer they work with. The company creates productions of classics and new pieces that are daring and visceral—productions that manifest the emotional grandeur and theatrical power of opera with minimal means. Heartbeat's one-act festival presentation of György Kurtág's Kafka-Fragments, directed by Heard, and the New York premiere of Jacques Offenbach's Daphnis & Chloé, in a new English translation directed by Proske, marks this young company's debut. Heartbeat Opera's resident music ensemble Cantata Profana, described by The New York Times as “a stylish early music ensemble,” will provide musical accompaniment.

Amas Musical Theatre Stages Readings of New Musical I AM, I WILL, I DO This Week

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present staged readings for the New York premiere of I Am, I Will, I Do, a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Dan Manjovi. Directed by Christopher Scott with Musical Direction by Steven Gross, the readings will be held tonight, February 9th at 6pm and tomorrow, February 10th at 3pm & 7pm at Shetler Studios - Penthouse (244 West 54th Street - between Broadway & 8th Avenue).

NYCO Renaissance to Host Gala in Honor of Julius Rudel, 3/9

New York City Opera Renaissance will host a Gala Concert and Dinner to celebrate the life of the late Maestro Julius Rudel and his invaluable contribution to the New York City Opera as General Director and Principal Conductor from 1957 to 1979. Maestro Rudel passed away on June 26, 2014 at age 93. The Gala Concert will take place at the Rose Theater in the Time Warner Center, Broadway & 60th Street, New York, NY, on Monday evening, March 9, 2015, at 7 pm.

The Muny's OKLAHOMA Set to Feature the Choreography of Susan Stroman

The Muny announced today its 2015 production of Oklahoma! will feature the Laurence Olivier Award-winning and Tony Award® nominated choreography of Susan Stroman. The Muny is honored to be the first theater in the world to recreate this extraordinary choreography, last seen in 2004. The Muny production will be directed by Rob Ruggiero, with music direction by Kevin Stites.
