Tarragon continues its long tradition of presenting English translations of outstanding French-language plays with this work by Quebec City's Theatre Niveau Parking Artistic Director Michel Nadeau, in collaborTarragon Theatre presents the Toronto premiere of And Slowly Beauty, a Belfry Theatre/National Arts Centre English Theatre co-production directed by Michael Shamata. This acclaimed and poignant celebration of life and art runs tonight, February 27 to March 31 in Tarragon Theatre's Mainspace (with previews beginning February 20).

The Metropolitan Opera's 2013-14 season will feature many of the world's greatest singers, conductors, and theater artists in 26 operas, including six new productions, of a varied repertory that ranges from the Baroque era to the 21st century. Met Music Director James Levine will return to the Met podium for the first time in two years, conducting three operas with which he has long been associated: a new production of Verdi's final masterpiece Falstaff, Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, and Berg's Wozzeck. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi will be conducting two operas in the 2013-14 season, Rossini's La Cenerentola and Puccini's Madama Butterfly.

Starbucks 18th Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz Concert Set for Paramount Stage, 3/22

The stage is set for Starbucks 18th Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz to once again delight Seattle-area jazz fans as the region's top young musicians come together for a special show at the Paramount Theatre. Proceeds from the night's performances benefit the music programs of the participating schools which this year includes: Garfield, Newport, Mountlake Terrace, Roosevelt and Ballard. The show will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 7:00 p.m. Since its inception in 1995, Starbucks Hot Java Cool Jazz has raised more than $300,000 for participating schools' music programs.

It Gets Better is the upbeat, exciting, and funny narrative and musical that includes moments of pain and pathos from the 'It Gets Better' you tube videos and project, started by Seattle's Dan Savage. A 6-member cast of the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) will partner with the UW Chorale, from the University of Washington, and over the course of a one-week residency, these artists will collaborate with other local performers, citizens, and educational and government institutions in building a community performance responding to the issue of bullying in local schools, culminating with a staged musical program at The Moore Theatre on February 23rd.

Foals have announced a North American headline tour. The two-month long run kicks off April 10th in Reno, NV, continues with two performances at Coachella, and runs through June 12th in Asheville, NC. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, February 15th. Surfer Blood and Blondfire will support.
STG Announces Dervish at the Neptune Theatre, 3/16

In celebration of St. Patrick's week, STG is presenting one of Ireland's most accomplished and renowned Irish traditional music groups, Dervish at the Neptune Theatre on March 16th. Mary Jane Lamond and Wendy MacIsaac, masters of the Cape Breton tradition, will open the bill. This show will be one of the biggest Celtic music events of the year in Seattle.
