Additional casting and the design team has been announced for Tennessee Williams' CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF starring Scarlett Johansson as Maggie, Ciaran Hinds as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as Brick and Debra Monk as Big Mama, directed by Rob Ashford. CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF will open at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street) on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Previews will begin Tuesday, December 18. This limited engagement runs 15 weeks only, through March 30, 2013.
The November 1 broadcast of 'Katie' will devote the entire hour to ANNIE, now in previews on Broadway. The broadcast will include interviews with stars Katie Finneran (Miss Hannigan), Anthony Warlow (Oliver Warbucks) and Lilla Crawford (Annie), animal trainer Bill Berloni and Sunny (Sandy), original stage and film Annies, Andrea McArdle and Aileen Quinn, and the first network performances by Lilla Crawford and the Orphans (Madi Rae DiPietro, Georgi James, Junah Jang, Tyrah Skye Odoms, Taylor Richardson and Emily Rosenfeld). You've seen the League's announcement that alll of tomorrow (Tuesday) night's Broadway performances are cancelled. It's important to note that, for Mary Poppins, Newsies and The Lion King at least, the normal performance week is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, October 31, 2012.
