Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago to Welcome Mordine & Company Dance Theater, 10/3-5

The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago continues its 40th season with the collaborative work of Mordine & Company Dance Theater, the Midwest's longest-running contemporary dance company. Performances are October 3-5 at The Dance Center, 1306 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago. Mordine & Company also opens The Dance Center's 15th season of FamilyDance Matinees, featuring family-oriented performances and a movement workshop with the artists, Saturday, October 5.

The Mission Creek Festival has released the second announcement of artists performing at this year's festival. New acts scheduled to perform include supergroup Divine Fits, 30-piece punk marching band Mucca Pazza, rising metal group Pallbearer, and rock duo JEFF the Brotherhood. Other new additions are Mister Lies, Ital, Pete Swanson Future Rock, Pujol, Container, and Iowa-based artists Har-di-Har, Gloom Balloon, Mirror Coat, Ex-Action Model, No Coast, and Gem Jones.

The final program line-up is set for the annual Chicago Dancing Festival, taking place at venues across downtown Chicago today, August 20 through August 25. The Festival, co-produced by renowned choreographer/Chicago native Lar Lubovitch and esteemed Chicago dancer Jay Franke, enters its sixth season, expanded this year to six consecutive days of dance events that are all completely free.

The culinary and theatrical experience has been extended an additional week, through April 29, 2012, at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works.
