Palo Alto Players to Present THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK This Fall

Palo Alto Players, the Peninsula's first theatre company, continues its 86th season with one of the most powerful stories of the 20th century, The Diary of Anne Frank, adapted by Wendy Kesselman from the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, based on the personal memoirs of Anne Frank. A timeless testament to the human spirit that resonates through generations, The Diary of Anne Frank plays November 4-20, 2016 at the Lucie Stern Theater, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, and is directed by Dennis Lickteig, with Roneet Aliza Rahamim of Palo Alto in the title role.

Greenway Arts Alliance Presents George Orwell's 1984

"War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength."  Greenway Arts Alliance Presents: George Orwell's 1984, directed by Kate Jopson as the first production of their novel to stage program Greenway Reads. 300 Fairfax High School students are reading the novel and will attend matinee's of the theatrical production. The adaptation by Alan Lyddiard creates an interactive and engaging experience for audience members. Jopson said, "We're trying to create an immersive experience. The elements of the play and its themes are all around us in the real world. We try to emphasize that and as soon as you arrive at the theater there's not anywhere you're not in the set of 1984, even in the lobby and bathrooms."  

Flat Rock Playhouse Presents The Diary of Anne Frank

Come experience the powerful truth of a young girl who left the world behind with a legacy of bravery. The Flat Rock Playhouse presents the Pulitzer prize and Tony Award winning play The Diary of Anne Frank, written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman. This inspiring production will resume the 2016 season running from September 8th through September 25th at the Clive & Nina Allen Mainstage in the village rock of Flat Rock.

KC Rep Sets THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK Cast

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director Eric Rosen is pleased to announce the cast of The Diary of Anne Frank, directed by Marissa Wolf, KC Rep's Director of New Works. The play, based upon Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, was originally written for the stage by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. In 1997, Wendy Kesselman published a revised version of Goodrich and Hackett's Pulitzer Prize winning script, which integrated some of the more personal aspects of Anne Frank's story that remained untold in the original script.

The famous diary of Anne Frank has been recreated, republished, and reproduced in perhaps every form imaginable. Since its original publication in Amsterdam in 1947, The Diary of a Young Girl has been translated into over 67 languages, with over 30 million copies sold to this day. It has inspired the 1955 Tony Award-winning play, The Diary of Anne Frank (revived on Broadway in 1997), and the 1959 film version under the same name. The University of Texas' Department of Theatre and Dance kicks off their 2015-2016 theatrical season with the famed play.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey to Stage THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK

Next on the Main Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett's drama, The Diary of Anne Frank, adapted by Wendy Kesselman and directed by Joseph Discher. Nearly 75 years ago in the Netherlands, a young girl received a diary for her 13th birthday. Today, Anne Frank's humor, strength, and innate goodness continue to shine forth from her words to inspire readers and audiences of all ages. The powerful story of her family's will to survive comes to unforgettable life for a new generation in this adaptation of the Pulitzer, Tony, and NY Drama Critic's Circle Award-winning play.
