FPAC to Stage THE ADDAMS FAMILY

Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) presents the hit musical comedy, The Addams Family, on October 24 at 7:30 p.m., October 25 at 2:00 p.m., and October 30 at 7:30 p.m., with two shows on October 31 at 2:00 and 8:30. Celebrate a bewitching holiday with a performance before or after Trick or Treating on Halloween; audiences are invited to come dressed in costume, and prizes will be awarded. Part of FPAC's 25th anniversary season, The Addams Family will be staged at THE BLACK BOX, the company's new home and performance venue, located at 15 West Central Street in downtown Franklin. 

2 RUBY KNOCKERS, 1 JADED DICK Set for United Solo Festival

The critically acclaimed solo show, 2 Ruby Knockers, 1 Jaded Dick: A Dirk Darrow Investigation will make its New York Premiere at the 6th Annual United Solo Theatre Festival on September 29th. The comedic solo show originally premiered at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2014 where it enjoyed a nearly sold-out run. The show is written and performed by award winning comic Tim Motley who was born in New York and raised in Australia where he currently resides. The show and character was inspired by an obscure short story written by the master crime fiction writer, Dashiell Hammett. 2 Ruby Knockers, 1 Jaded Dick is currently touring the World, recent tour stops include London, Toronto, San Francisco, Melbourne, Perth, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia.

Lynda Radley's FUTUREPROOF Begins Tonight at Carriageworks Theatre Leeds

First envisioned as a response to reality television, Lynda Radley's 2011 playFutureproof, about a down on its luck travelling freak show rolls up to Carriageworks Theatre Leeds, from today 16 - 19 September. The show's motley cast and crew are all members of local company Leeds Art Theatre.

FPAC to Open 25th Anniversary Season with LOST IN YONKERS

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) kicks off a milestone 25th anniversary season with Neil Simon's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Lost in Yonkers, on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27. Directed by Nick Paone, FPAC's production will be staged at THE BLACK BOX, the company's new home and performance venue, located at 15 West Central Street in downtown Franklin.

El Capitan to Screen HOCUS POCUS, THE BLACK CAULDRON & THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS 4D in October

Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre will be Halloween Headquarters this October with special engagements of Disney's “Hocus Pocus” Oct. 8-11, 2015; “The Black Cauldron” Oct. 15-18, 2015; and its annual special engagement of Tim Burton's “The Nightmare Before Christmas” Oct. 22 – Nov. 1, 2015, in 3D with spine-tingling interactive 4D sensory effects, including wind, snow, fog and much more. Bristol Riverside Theatre to Stage BUS STOP, 9/29-10/18

Bristol Riverside Theatre opens its 2015-2016 season with the classic romantic comedy Bus Stop by Pulitzer Prize-winner William Inge, running September 29-October 18.  Directed by Susan D. Atkinson, the ensemble cast features Broadway veteran Mark Jacoby joined by Mike Boland, Linda Elizabeth, Barbara McCullough, Bruce Sabath, David Sitler, Grant Struble, and Jessica Wagner.

BWW Review: CAFE SOCIETY - An Almost Satisfying Coffee Break

The world premiere of Emmy-winning writer Peter Lefcourt 's CAFE SOCIETY deserves credit for attempting a hostage situation as a satisfying sitcom dramedy. A frequent collaborator, Terri Hanauer directs her game cast of seven. Kudos to Yee Eun Nam for her novel, innovative projection design utilizing the two huge menu boards as video screenshots of various text messages, incoming Caller IDs, web searches and TV news programs.
