Back to East High: Revisiting the Cast of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL- Where Are They Now?
by Nicole Rosky
- Mar 28, 2015
It's been almost ten years since the Wildcats first crowded the halls of East High School, singing of a new start, the status quo, and of course, the big game. The first of three HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL movies debuted on January 20, 2006, quickly becoming the most successful Disney Channel Original Movie ever produced. Launching the careers of a then-unknown set of teenagers, lots has happened to the cast since the last film wrapped in 2008.
Much of the cast has continued in the musical tradition of the trilogy, taking on various roles in other musicals on stage and screen. Later this Spring, Vanessa Hudgens will become the second of the group to make her Broadway debut, as the title character in Gigi. In honor of her big debut, BroadwayWorld is recapping you on what's been up with the rest of the gang since Senior Year!

British Museum Opens New Exhibit by Aboriginal Australian Artist Today
by BWW News Desk
- Mar 12, 2015
This Asahi Shimbun display features work by contemporary Aboriginal Australian artist, Wukun Wanambi (b.1962). Wukun, an important Yolngu artist from Yirrkala in Eastern Arnhem Land, produces contemporary work firmly grounded in a traditional form. He focusses on making larrakitj, memorial poles. Larrakitj are derived from painted hollow log coffins: such coffins used to be made as the final resting place of the dry bones of important people, and were painted with clan designs. Now Yolngu artists use the form – hollow logs painted with traditional techniques and designs – to convey some of their core understandings of the world to the outsiders with whom they have had, increasingly, to engage. Wukun says: “The outside surface of things hides what is inside. I want to share what is hidden. ... I have wanted to share this understanding with non-Indigenous people for a long time.”
