Casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director; James Houghton, Founder) production of The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, by Pulitzer Prize-winnerSuzan-Lori Parks and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz. Parks is Signature's current Residency One playwright; her plays Venus, directed by Lear deBessonet, and The Red Letter Plays: In the Bloodand f**king A, directed by Jo Bonney, will be presented in 2017.

MCC Theater - which this fall celebrates its 30th Anniversary Season as one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theater companies - has announced the 2016 PlayLabs reading series, which will feature new works in development by playwrights Jocelyn Bioh, MCC Youth Company alum Xavier Galva, Ted Malawer, and Eric Micha Holmes.

Classic Stage Company has announced that Mirirai Sithole is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant. The Fund was established in 2010 with the mission to assist young actors who have appeared at CSC and who have recently made the transition from their training into the profession. The $3,000 grant can be used by the young artist to continue training or to offset loans they may have incurred while studying their craft. With the grant, CSC hopes to make a difference in the lives of young actors at the start of their careers as well as to heighten awareness in the community to the specific needs of actors.

Origin Theatre Company presents the North American premiere of the internationally acclaimed Swedish novelist and playwright Jonas Hassen Khemiri's "The Hundred We Are."  The fascinatingly timely memory play's limited Off-Broadway engagement performs at the cell, 338 West 23rd Street, from Wednesday March 16 to Friday April 8, with an Off-Broadway opening on Monday March 21 at 8pm.

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director) today announced that their Twelfth Season will continue with Thomas Middleton's A Trick To Catch The Old One, directed by Craig Baldwin, on Monday January 18th at 7:30 PM, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson). BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Classic Stage Company's Mother Courage and Her Children will now resume performances Tuesday, Jan. 12 rather than tonight, Jan. 8. The delay grants Kecia Lewis 'additional time for memorization of the script and rehearsal,' after taking on the title role earlier this week for Tony winner Tonya Pinkins.

With less than a week's preparation, Lewis steps into a production her predecessor denounced as seen through 'the filter of the white gaze.'
