Another year draws to a close and a new year beckons. Almost as the clock turns between the years we say adieu to Idina and say hello to Kerry, wave a fond goodbye to Caroline or Change and The Producers and welcome the brief return of The Rocky Horror Show and The History Boys. As we sing Auld Lang's Syne, it gives cause to look back on and look forward to the respective years in London theatre.

Michael Ball to Star in English Opera's Kismet Summer '07

English National Opera announces that Michael Ball will perform the role of Hajj/Poet in the new production of Robert Wright & George Forrest's KISMET. Based on themes of Alexander Borodin and the play by Edward Knoblock, the book is by Charles Lederer & Luther Davies. This is the first new West End production for almost 30 years.

Altar Boyz Kick off 30-City Tour in Chicago October 10

LESTAT Sets New Opening April 25, Previews March 25

In preparation for the Broadway run, Jonathan Butterell has joined the production as creative consultant to provide an objective overview as it undergoes revisions. To accommodate these revisions, LESTAT will now begin previews at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street) on Saturday, March 25, 2006, and open on Tuesday, April 25, 2006.

Roger, Quast, and Rawle Announced for UK Evita; Show Opens June 2

EVITA, one of the world's greatest musicals, returns to London's West End after 21 years this summer. Directed by the award-winning Michael Grandage and featuring lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the brand new production of the smash-hit stage show has its Press Night at the Adelphi Theatre on June 21st.
