Central City Opera complements its two mainstage productions this summer with two one-act operas-Mozart's The Impresario and John Musto's Later the Same Evening-performed in smaller venues in Central City and in creative spaces in Colorado Springs, Boulder, and Denver. Both of these shorter operas are performed by members of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artists Training Program.

?York Little Theatre, now named The Belmont Theatre, will present the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING & I, a musical on the main stage, June 17-19 & 23-26. It is 1862 in Siam when an English widow and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, to serve as tutor to the king's many children and wives. With both keeping a firm grip on their respective traditions and values, they both grow to understand and respect one another in a truly unique love story. The classic musical includes well known favorites including "Whistle A Happy Tune," "Getting To Know You," "We Kiss In A Shadow," "Something Wonderful," and the show stopping "Shall We Dance," to name a few.
Von Heidecke's Dance Center School of the Chicago Festival Ballet has announced The Von Heidecke Spring Performance featuring a refined compilation of the romantic ballet classic "Paquita," the Chinese Tongain Dance Troupe and the breathtaking "Swan Lake" Act II choreographed by Kenneth von Heidecke who is the protege of legendary Prima Ballerina Assoluta Maria Tallchief and founder and chief choreographer of Von Heidecke's Dance Center School of the Chicago Festival Ballet. Von Heidecke's Spring Performance will take place at the Bolingbrook High School Auditorium (365 Raider Way, Bolingbrook) on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. Tickets are on-sale now to the public.

Get into the holiday spirit with "Christmas Music Thru the Years," a holiday concert to benefit York Little Theatre, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 12 at the historic Hugh McCall Mansion on Market Street. The concert will feature Dr. Robina Santaniello , soprano, Peter Powers, a dean at Messiah College and well-known tenor from the Harrisburg area, Michael Anderson, a local attorney and baritone who has performed many opera roles and won awards for his voice. Victor Fields, the accompanist, is one of the best pianists in the area and Anna Hallett, a high school senior, will play violin.
