Summer 2009 at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre gets into full swing when 'Monty Python's Spamalot' opens Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at 8 p.m. The popular musical lovingly ripped-off from the internationally famous comedy team's most popular motion picture, 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail,' will play for nine weeks only through September 6, 2009.

The cast has been announced for the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre engagement of 'Monty Python's Spamalot,' which will open Center Theatre Group's 2009-2010 season at the Ahmanson Theatre of the Los Angeles Music Center, July 7 through September 6, 2009.

On Friday July 3rd members of the San Francisco casts of ?Wicked' and ?Spamalot' will join Composer and Lyricist Scott Alan for a concert of his songbook at the Rrazz Room at Hotel Nikko.

After pulling off the most difficult feat of appealing to both diehard Monty Python fans and newcomers to the British humorists, Monty Pythons Spamalot enjoyed a healthy and audience-pleasing run on The Great White Way before closing earlier this year. The touring version of the show is not dead yet, however, and arrived last night at Cleveland's Palace Theatre for an eight-show engagement.

Composer and lyricist Scott Alan returned to Birdland on January 12th for a concert featuring a starry line-up of Broadway performers. The January 12th performance featured selections from Alan's debut CD, 'Dreaming Wide Awake' and his recently released CD 'Keys.'

Merle Dandridge, Crystal Monee Hall, Megan McGinnis, Carrie Manolakos, Patti Murin and Allie Trimm have been added to a concert celebrating the music and lyrics of Scott Alan at Birdland. Martin Moran returns to Monty Python's SPAMALOT on January 6. SPAMALOT is running at the Shubert Theater. Moran will take the place of 'American Idol' finalist Clay Aiken in the role of Sir Robin. Aiken's last performance was on Jan. 4th.

Clay Aiken returned to the scene of his triumphant Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT on September 19th. Clay's debut on Broadway earlier this year was met with wild enthusiasm from both his legion of fans and the New York press. After the performance on Friday December 5th the Broadway actor and music superstar made one lucky fans birthday something special by stopping by and signing her program and wishing her a very happy birthday. Broadwayworld's camera was there to join in on all the b-day fun!

The New York Times is reporting that Eric Idle is guiding the drive to officially take Monty Python to the Internet.The creation is called, Pythonline.com, it is a social network and digital playground, offers clips of old material that people can use to make mash-ups, perhaps inserting their own pet in the killer-rabbit scene from 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.'
