Griffin Theatre to Stage POCATELLO, 11/7-12/13

Griffin Theatre Company is pleased to launch its 2015-16 season with the Midwest premiere of Samuel D. Hunter's heartbreaking comedy POCATELLO, directed by ensemble member Jonathan Berry (Punk Rock, Balm in Gilead), playing November 7 - December 13, 2015 at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 W. Berenice Ave. in Chicago. Single tickets are available at www.griffintheatre.com or by calling (866) 811-4111. Season subscriptions are currently available. The press opening is Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 7 pm.

The Hypocrites is pleased to continue its 2015-16 season with THE 4TH GRADERS PRESENT AN UNNAMED LOVE-SUICIDE by Artistic Director Sean Graney, co-directed by Joel Ewing and Mechelle Moe, featuring students from Senn Arts Magnet High School's "The Yard." This special collaboration will play eight performances only October 30 - November 8, 2015 at The Den Theatre's Heath Main Stage, 1329 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago.

Based on stories collected through interviews at St. Leonard's Ministries with men in transition from incarceration in the Illinois prison system, Broken Text examines the past, present, and future of these individuals and the communities in which they live. Through theatrical interpretations written and devised by Mechelle Moe of Raven Theatre's Take Flight education program, original spoken-word responses by Senn Arts High School students, musical selections by living composers Marc Mellits, Edgar Meyer, and John Adams performed by Fifth House Ensemble, and soundscapes by DJ/Producer Searchl1te, these previously untold stories find a voice.

TimeLine Theatre Company continues its 2014-15 season with a special production featuring two of Tony Award winner Richard Nelson's acclaimed Apple Family Plays: THAT HOPEY CHANGEY THING and SORRY, directed by TimeLine Associate Artist Louis Contey, presented on an alternating schedule January 24 - April 19, 2015 (previews January 13 - 23), at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Ave., Chicago. Press opening is a 'marathon' double feature of both plays on Sunday, January 25 at 2 p.m. (THAT HOPEY CHANGEY THING) and 6 p.m. (SORRY).

The Chicago Commercial Collective has announced that TO MASTER THE ART has recouped its full production capitalization in just 5 weeks. Commissioned by TimeLine Theatre in 2008, the play, about the adventure and romance of Julia and Paul Child's journey of discovery to Paris during the 1950s, has had a successful run at the Broadway In Chicago's Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E Chestnut) and will continue through October 20.

Chestnut). The six week engagement will begin Sep. 10 and run through Oct. 20, 2013. The Chicago Commercial Collective will produce the 2010 TimeLine Theatre world premiere hit.

Rogers Park's Lifeline Theatre continues bringing educational opportunities to children with its twelfth annual Summer Drama Camps. Lifeline Theatre's Summer Drama Camps introduce kids to basic principles of performance and the kind of work that Lifeline is known for, namely story adaptation and ensemble work. Over the course of the programs, students explore popular children's books and adapt them for the stage, and parents enjoy a performance at the end. In Lifeline's camps, kids learn not only how to act out stories and characters, but also how to work more patiently and respectfully with their peers, gain confidence, and express themselves better.
