On Monday, September 21, 2015 The Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 11 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2015 recipients at its annual event. Celebrating eleven years and thousands of nominees, the New York Innovative Theatre awards took place at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center.

Broken Box Mime Theater to Present ABOVE BELOW at HERE

Broken Box Mime Theater has announced its newest show, ABOVE BELOW. Through movement and music, Broken Box Mime Theater performs a set of fresh original narratives that explore what is above, what is below, and how we find ourselves in the here and now. Inspired by place and perspective, and set to contemporary music mixed live by DJ Christopher Ross, ABOVE BELOW will begin performances at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Avenue) on October 2, 2015, and run through October 25, 2015. The $25,000 award was received for aproposed collaboration with Fiske Planetarium. These partnering organizations will create a 'Star Power Series' of immersive events incorporating state-of-the-art planetarium projection technology with live performance.

At the Mile High Holidays press conference today, Crumpet (Matt Zambrano) from The SantaLand Diaries provided Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock instructions on how to be a proper elf. 'I suspected Mayor Hancock (or 'Manning-elf' as he called himself) may have missed his true calling as a dancing holiday elf. Casting for the 2013 season at the Utah Shakespeare Festival is nearly complete. The casting process is an exciting, but complicated endeavor because roughly 60 performers will be hired in order to fill hundreds of roles in eight plays and the nightly Greenshow.
