The New Victory Theater, New York City's premier performing arts venue for kids and families, adds two shows to their 2013-14 season. Making U.S. premieres at The New Victory Theater, Saltbush, from Compagnia T.P.O. and Insite Arts, will run from May 30-June 8, 2014, and The Ballad of Pondlife McGurk, from Catherine Wheels Theater Company, will run from June 13-22, 2014. For both shows, audiences are seated on stage with the performers for a truly interactive theater experience.

Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 21st season with "I Am My Own Wife" by Doug Wright. Winner of the 2004 Pulitzer Prize and the 2004 Tony Award, "I Am My Own Wife" was inspired by interviews conducted over several years by the playwright with Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, a German transvestite who survived both the Nazi and repressive East German Communist regimes. Michael Stebbins stars as Charlotte and more than 40 other characters that represent the men and women in Charlotte's life in Germany from the 1930s through 1990, when the Berlin Wall fell. "I Am My Own Wife" has been hailed by The New York Times as '. . . both moving and intellectually absorbing' and praised by The Associated Press as ". . . more than a historical document . . . the play is a vivid portrait of a unique person whose ability to endure has been turned into a highly theatrical journey.' On Saturday, July 27th, the Television Academy's Costume Design & Supervision Peer Group honored the 65th Primetime Emmy Award Nominees for Outstanding Costumes with a special reception that also launched the FIDM Museum & Galleries seventh annual presentation of 'The Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design' featuring over 120 costumes from over 15 featured shows. Leading Suffolk theatre company Red Rose Chain bring Fallen in Love, the story of Anne Boleyn's incestuous relationship with her brother to the site of Anne's trial, execution and final resting place, the Tower of London. This unique theatrical event runs from May 17 to June 16 and will be performed in the Banqueting Suite of the New Armouries. Written and directed by Red Rose Chain's founder and director, Joanna Carrick, this is a story of love, betrayal, jealousy and treason.
Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present a new production of Bertolt Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle featuring Christopher Lloyd (Azdak), directed by Brian Kulick (who directed Brecht's Galileo last season), and featuring new music by Tony Award-winning singer/songwriter Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening). The Caucasian Chalk Circle will begin performances tonight, May 3 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 9. The official opening is Thursday, May 30.

St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back Kneehigh and director Emma Rice for the New York premiere of The Wild Bride. In this adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale 'The Girl Without Hands,' narrated by Satan himself, a father accidentally sells his daughter to the Devil. When our heroine cleverly escapes, a lyrical love story laced with devilish humor unfolds. The production features a bluegrass score by longtime Kneehigh composer Stu Barker, performed by live musicians and the cast.
