Media Theatre Presents ANNIE, Closes 1/16

America's iconic musical 'Annie' comes to The Media Theatre November 23, 2010-January 16, 2011. The Broadway hit is 'one of those rare, sacred properties in the musical theater' according to The Chicago Tribune. With seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score (Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin), and Best Book of a Musical (Thomas Meehan), 'Annie' ran for six years and set box office records. It's most popular songs, 'Tomorrow' and 'Hard Knock Life', became cultural milestones and are still popular 30 years later.

Grosse Pointe Theatre Presents Alan Ayckbourn's RELATIVELY SPEAKING, 1/16-1/29

Grosse Pointe Theatre presents Relativley Speaking, a witty, charming and beautifully constructed comedy of manners and mistaken identities from one of England's most popular playwrights, Alan Ayckbourn. The show opens with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Sunday, January 16 in the Fries Auditorium of the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, 32 Lake Shore Road , Grosse Pointe Farms. Relatively Speaking continues with shows on January 20, 21 and 22 at 8:00 p.m., January 23 at 2:00 p.m., and January 26, 27, 28 and-29 at 8:00 p.m.

Sykes Extends as 'Hannigan' in Media Theatre's ANNIE

Wanda Sykes is currently leading the Media Theatre's production of ANNIE as 'Miss Hannigan' - the iconic child-hating orphanage director with an affinity for alcoholic beverages - this holiday season. Sykes opened the production on November 23 and had been scheduled to close the production on January 16, 2011 following a Christmas absence. The Media Theatre has just announced that Sykes will now be extending her run through January 23, 2011. Click here for the official announcement on the Media site.

STAGE TUBE: Wanda Sykes Talks 'Hannigan' in Philadelphia!

As BroadwayWorld reported back in August, comedian Wanda Sykes will be leading the Media Theatre's production of ANNIE as 'Miss Hannigan' - the iconic child-hating orphanage director with an affinity for alcoholic beverages - this holiday season. Sykes will open the production on November 23 and close the production on January 16, 2011 following a Christmas absence. The production will be directed by Media Artistic Director Jesse Cline and musical directed by Tom Fosnocht. Rehearsals began November 8, 2011.

TV: Kelli O'Hara Talks 'BELLS' with Phyllis Newman

Bells Are Ringing will open the Encores! 2010-11 season on November 18, 2010. With music by Jule Styne and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, the production will run through 21, 2010 at New York City Center. Bells Are Ringing is directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, features music direction by Rob Berman and stars Kelli O'Hara and Will Chase.
