In the new, epic book 'Curtain Call: A Year Backstage in London Theatre,' photographer Matt Humphrey and actor/director John Schwab take audiences behind the scenes of 60 of London's best shows in 2015, and uniquely and elegantly capture the electricity that makes live theatre so special.

Earlier this week, The Theatre World Awards celebrated this year's Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance honorees. Hosted annually by well-known theater journalist, Peter Filichia, the 72nd Annual Theatre World Awards ceremony was produced by Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors. 

ARTHUR MILLER'S A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. 

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathers today for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). 

Ivo Van Hove has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for ARTHUR MILLER'S A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE. The production marks his Broadway debut.

He's taken on Scar, Claude Frollo, the Green Goblin, and the Grinch... but his past characters are not all that bad (at least he doesn't see it that way). Now Patrick Page is back on stage at New York Theatre Workshop and this time it's all about the underworld.

Just In! The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2015-16 season in 25 categories.

The Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors (Dale Badway, President) has announced the 2016 Theatre World Award Honorees for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance who will be celebrated at the 72nd Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony on Monday evening, May 23, 2016 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Circle in the Square Theatre (West 50th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue), home of the current 2015 Tony® Award-winning Best Musical, Fun Home.   

At 8:30 AM tomorrow morning will be the announcement of the nominations for this year's Tony Awards! The announcements will be made by Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon; HBO's Girls) and Tony Award winner Patina Miller (Pippin; CBS' Madam Secretary). Paramount Home Media Distribution and Vertical Entertainment announced today a collaboration to bring APPROACHING THE UNKNOWN to theatrical and home viewing audiences.

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. Just this morning, Something Rotten and Spotlight star Brian d'Arcy James along with this season's break-out and genuflecting sensation Jennifer Simard from Broadway's Disaster announced the The Outer Critics Circle nominees for the 2015-16 season from New York's legendary Algonquin Hotel (59 W 44th Street.)  Outer Critics Circle nominations are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.

National Theatre Live has announced that a selection of their most celebrated and acclaimed broadcasts will be returning to cinemas in 2016. These broadcasts will feature Tony Award winner & host of 'The Late Late Show' James Corden, Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, 'Elementary' star Jonny Lee Miller, Academy & Tony Award winner Helen Mirren and more! The Young Vic's critically-acclaimed Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge directed by Ivo van Hove, which opened to rave reviews at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre last fall, might be heading across the country. The LA Times' Charles McNulty writes in a recent interview with van Hove that the play will open at the Ahmanson Theatre in September. An official announcement has not yet been made.

Sarasota, FL – Sarasota Opera's 2016 Winter Opera Festival season, a landmark in the company's 57 year history, will mark the final year of the Verdi Cycle, a 28-season initiative to perform the complete works of Giuseppe Verdi. The season will culminate in a Verdi Festival Week March 15 – 20 which will include performances of Verdi's Aida and The Battle of Legnano, two concerts of Verdi's music, a retrospective exhibit on the Verdi Cycle, an International Verdi Conference, and many more commemorative events. At the conclusion of the Verdi Cycle, Sarasota Opera will be theonly company in the world to have performed every work of Giuseppe Verdi.
