The celebrated Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo will perform at the 16th New York Guitar Seminar at Mannes on Sunday, July 10. Brazilian composer and guitarist Sergio Assad and his daughter, pianist and vocalist Clarice Assad will join the Duo in works by the Assads, Milton Nascimento, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Celso Machado, Alfonso Montes & Irina Kircher, Carlos Lyra, and Gilberto Gil. The concert will be held at 7:30pm at Tishman Auditorium at University Center, 63 Fifth Ave., corner of 13th St. Michael Newman and Laura Oltman are the founders and artistic directors of the seminar (www.mannesguitar.com) which takes place July 6 - July 11, 2016. Concert tickets are $25.00; $15.00 for students/seniors.

This past month, The 1979 Northern Valley Regional High-School of Old Tappan Head-Coach Bill Medea met screenwriter, Mario Vitellozzi for the football drama, 'The Golden Knights' on the NVOT High-school football field for an in-person interview that took over two hours. Medea gave Vitellozzi a gentleman's introduction to the world of The Golden Knights football team during the 1979 season.

The Board of ArtsRock has announced that Elliott Forrest, Artistic Director of the organization from its inception in 2008 will become the non-profit's first Executive Director starting July 1, 2016. Forrest will remain as Artistic Director in addition to his new role for ArtsRock who served over 2,000 audience members during their 2015-2016 Winter/Spring Season. Written by Kim Davies and developed by Kim Davies, Jocelyn Kuritsky and Tony Speciale, STET is a new play inspired by the Rolling Stone article 'A Rape on Campus.' Artistic Director Tony Speciale directs the world premiere, marking his first programming as Artistic Director.
