Aoki and Izu present Aunt Lily's Flower Book to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Executive Order 9066, which authorized the removal and internment of Japanese Americans in the United States during World War II.Aunt Lily's Flower Book takes place on Saturday, May 27 at 8:30pm, Sunday, May 28 at 2pm, and Saturday, June 3 at 7pm at the South Side Theater, Fort Mason (2 Marina Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94123). MATA FESTIVAL Returns to The Kitchen, 4/25 - 29

Photo Flash: THE LITTLE MERMAID with a Big Heart at Literally Alive Theatre

In 1837 Hans Christian Anderson wrote his most beloved tale "The Little Mermaid".  180 years later she is still swimming her way into the hearts of young and old.  On February 26th, Literally Alive Theatre opened their Off-Broadway musical adaptation of this classic tale with books and lyrics by Brenda Bell and music by Michael Sgouros at the Players Theatre located at 115 MacDougal Street (between Bleeker and West 3rd) in Manhattan.  Their adaptation is true to the original story by Hans Christian Andersen, unlike the Disney version, which has a different ending.  "We tell the story in its original form" says Artistic Director Brenda Bell, "We believe that the true ending shows children that every wish has a price and that love comes with many sacrifices."

Maya Beiser to Play Two Shows at Big Ears This Month

"Cello goddess" (The New Yorker) Maya Beiser will perform two shows at this year's Big Ears Festival. On Friday, March 24, at 10:30am she opens the day with Morning Trance, a solo show at The Mill & Mine, and on Saturday, March 25 at 6:30pm she takes the stage at the Bijou Theatre for Uncovered, classic rock reimagined with Glenn Kotche, drums and Gyan Riley, bass.

Magic Theatre Announces Cast for Paula Vogel's THE BALTIMORE

Magic Theatre (Loretta Greco, Artistic Director and Jaimie Mayer, Managing Director) announced today that rehearsals have begun for the theatre's legacy revival of Paula Vogel's award-winning drama The Baltimore Waltz. Previews begin on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Magic Theatre's Fort Mason location, with a press opening on Wednesday, March 29.
