This event is designed to pique your interest in the preservation, use and future adaptability of Modern Dance Repertory. We will be presenting scenes from a movie in the making, "Living the Legacy of Modern Dance," historical and current repertory and a panel discussion on the current and future state of Modern Dance.

Kristine Nielsen, Merwin Goldsmith & More Set for STAGE DOOR Benefit Reading, 3/18

The Acting Company will present a benefit staged reading of Stage Door by Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman at 7 pm on Monday, March 18 at the Ailey Studios Joan Weill Center for Dance, 405 West 55th Street (Ninth Avenue). The performance, starring Kristine Nielsen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Merwin Goldsmith (Grand Hotel, Me and My Gal), Heidi Armbruster (Disgraced, Time Stands Still), Zoe Winters (4,000 Miles, Gossip Girl) will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, Irene Lewis, former Artistic Director of Baltimore's Centerstage. A dozen Acting Company Alumni Members-Beth Bartley, Kaliswa Brewster, Georgia Cohen, Susan Finch, Adam Green, Julie Jesneck, Jonathan Kaplan (Tony nom. Dallas Theater Center Presents THE ODD COUPLE, Now thru 4/14

Dallas Theater Center presents Neil Simon's classic American comedy, The Odd Couple, directed by DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty. When two men with struggling relationships, neat and particular Felix Ungar and disheveled and rough-edged Oscar Madison, decide to live together, the results are funny and poignant. The Odd Couple opens with previews tonight, March 15 and runs through Sunday, April 14 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Dreamcatcher and Playwrights Theatre Collaborate for SHAKESPEARE IN VEGAS

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, and Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey of Madison are co-producing the premiere production of Suzanne Bradbeer's Shakespeare in Vegas. This new play tells the story of a wise guy with a dream and a discouraged New York actress who attempt to bring legit theatre to Sin City. Shakespeare in Vegas plays April 4 through 21, with talkbacks following the April 7 and 14 matinees.

American Stage Presents THE AMISH PROJECT, Beginning 4/12

THE AMISH PROJECT is a fictional exploration of a schoolhouse shooting that took place on October 2, 2006 in Nickel Mines, PA. Characters are entirely fictional and are not meant to represent real people. It was this day that shocked the world when an Amish community displayed unprecedented condonation and compassion. This production inspires one with poetry and humor while dealing with loss and faith. THE AMISH PROJECT, a sensation at the New York International Fringe Festival, is an unforgettable tour-de-force about the mystical world of the Amish and the ultimate limits of forgiveness.

Juilliard Receives $10 Million to Endow Masters Program in Drama

The Juilliard School today announced a $10 million gift that completes the endowment of the School's new four-year masters-level graduate program in Drama. The gift supports increased instructional costs and new faculty, and provides full scholarships plus stipends for actors in their final and fourth year of the master of fine arts program in Drama. Juilliard's Board Chairman and his wife, Bruce and Suzie Kovner initiated a matching challenge grant of up to $5 million to endow Juilliard Drama's MFA program, with donors John A. and Carole Moran and The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust completing that challenge.

Playhouse on the Square Introduces New Free Event Series

Playhouse on the Square announces the Four Seasons Cocktail Series - a set of free happy-hour events to coincide with the changing of the seasons. On each equinox and solstice, the theatre will host a cocktail party in honor of a different non-profit organization. Guests are invited to learn about the organization being honored while enjoying light hors d'oeuvres and a signature cocktail created just for the event. The parties are from 5:30pm - 6:30pm and will be held in a different location inside Playhouse on the Square on each date. Donations are accepted during the party and will benefit the non-profit being honored.

Dallas Opera Cowboys Stadium Simulcast Receives More Than 10,000 RSVPs

The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium and with support from The Dallas Foundation, is delighted to report that the first milestone has been achieved: more than10,000 tickets have been requested for the free April 13th Dallas Opera Cowboys Stadium Simulcast at One Legends Way in Arlington, TX. Of that number, over 40% of the households have no previous purchase history or simulcast history with the Dallas Opera; while more than half of the tickets were requested by households that either attended or requested tickets for the initial simulcast last April.
