Horizon Theatre Co Presents Atlanta Premiere of EVERY TONGUE CONFESS, Now thru 7/25

As the summer heat rises, Horizon Theatre Company launches the Atlanta Premiere of every tongue confess by one of today's hottest playwrights Marcus Gardley. Imaginative director Thomas W. Jones II brings Gardley's passion-filled mystery to life with the help of original blues and gospel music by Composer and Music Director S. Renee Clark. Jones calls the work 'a highly theatrical rollercoaster ride that is both provocative and redemptive,' and continues, 'People will be healed by this play.'

Sundance Institute to Kick Off LUMA Theatre Directors Retreat in Arles, July 29

Sundance Institute and the LUMA Foundation today announced that the two organizations will collaborate to host the Sundance Institute | LUMA Foundation Theatre Directors Retreat at Domaine de l'Armelliere, July 29 - August 9, in Arles, France. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director of the Sundance Institute Theatre Program, Producing Director Christopher Hibma and Program Associate Anne Kauffman, the Retreat will be the first theatre director-centered residency at the Institute.

Centerstage Closes Season After 50 Years

Celebrating its 50th Anniversary, and its first full season under the combined leadership of Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah and Managing Director Stephen Richard, CENTERSTAGE drew national attention and local acclaim for its groundbreaking stage work, including two World Premieres; special artistic initiatives; and innovative community programs-raising the bar for the Theater's next 50 years.

Victory Gardens Hosts 2013 Chicago One-Minute Play Festival Today

Victory Gardens and the One-Minute Play Festival (OMPF) present the Third Annual Chicago One-Minute Play Festival, an evening of micro-plays by sixty of Chicago's top playwrights, directed by ten Chicago directors. OMPF benefits the Miller Match campaign and will be presented for two performances only, today, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park.

Railway Theater Presents CAR TALK, Now thru 8/12

Beginning tonight, June 14, Underground Railway Theater and Suffolk University present the World Premiere of Car Talk: The Musical!!! with books, lyrics, and direction by Wesley Savick, and original music by Michael Wartofsky. The production runs from tonight, June 14 through August 12, 2012.

Philadelphia Young Playwrights to Launch Paula Vogel Mentors Project

Philadelphia Young Playwrights has kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration by announcing the launch of the Paula Vogel Mentors Project, a living award honoring the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and teacher and extending her mentorship legacy. The three-year pilot program will bring together five acclaimed professional playwrights as mentors for five promising young playwright fellows, who will embark on yearlong playwriting journeys.

Perseverance Theatre Closes Its Season With the World Premiere of the road weeps, the well runs dry

Poet-playwright Marcus Gardley, one of the fastest rising stars in American theatre, joins Perseverance Theatre for the world premiere of his newest play, the road weeps, the well runs dry, May 3-26, 2013. Berkeley Repertory Theatre Will Open Its Season With VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE

Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre revealed the seventh show selected for its upcoming season. The Tony Award-winning nonprofit will begin its 46th year of smart and adventurous shows with Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, the hilarious Broadway hit from three-time Obie Award-winner Christopher Durang. Respected director Richard E.T. White returns to the Bay Area to stage this hugely popular show in September.

Keen Company Announces 2013 Keen Teens Festival of New Work

Keen Teens, the educational theatre partnership between Off-Broadway's Keen Company and the theatrical publishing company Samuel French, has selected the writers for the program's seventh season: Jonathan Caren, Madeleine George, and Anna Moench, who have been commissioned to write thirty-minute, large cast plays, which will be produced with student actors Off-Broadway.

Berkeley Rep's GROUND FLOOR Announces Residencies

This June, as part of an extraordinary new laboratory for collaboration, some of the nation's most prominent and promising writers, directors, and composers converge on Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
