The Children's Playhouse of Maryland will be holding auditions for A Christmas Carol (Broadway) Music by Alan Menken , Book/Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, Book by Mike Ockrent on October 11, 2011.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) announces complete casting for the New York premiere of MAPLE AND VINE, a new play by Jordan Harrison (Doris to Darlene at Playwrights Horizons, Amazons and Their Men, Kid-Simple).

The fantastical, magical musical Seussical will open November 11th and run through December 31st at The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL.

Red Branch Theatre Company, the professional theatre company in residence at Drama Learning Center opens their final show of the season, Once On This Island. Performances will be October 14-29.

With a power upset among the lead characters, I got to see my favorite musical through a new pair of glasses!

From September 12 through September 15, the Dramatists Guild of America hosted its second annual Chicago Fellowship Program at Northwestern University led by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, creators of Once On This Island, Seussical, and the recent Broadway revival of Ragtime. Now in its eleventh year (the first were held in New York), the Dramatists Guild Fellowship Program augments the training of emerging American dramatists and enhances the sense of community among them. Selected participants each contributed to planning and goal-setting sessions, master classes and discussions led by Ahrens, Flaherty and additional guests.

Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell officially announced the playbill for the Shaw Festival's 51st season today.

Seussical will open November 11th and run through December 31st at The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL.

Reprise Theatre Company presents An Evening With Liz Callaway. It will have one performance only on Monday, September 19 at 8:00 pm, at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

First Stage kicks off its 25th anniversary season as SEUSSICALTM returns to the Todd Wehr Theater, 929 N. Water Street, downtown Milwaukee, from September 16 - October 16, 2011.

The 2011-12 season is comprised of four productions, beginning in September 2011, and closing in June 2012.
