Complexions Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Lynda Carter, S. Epatha Merkerson, Alana De La Garza and More, 10/16

COMPLEXIONS CONTEMPORARY BALLET has been called the most creative and compelling multicultural dance company in the arts landscape today. As previously announced, this Saturday the organization will celebrate its 15th Anniversary Season-entitled LOVE, SWEAT & TEARS. The company will commemorate the occasion with a star-studded Anniversary Gala, a wide-ranging tour, and a series of performances at NYC's world-renowned hub for dance arts - The Joyce Theater. S. Epatha Merkerson and Alana De La Garza will co-host Complexions Contemporary Ballet's 15th anniversary gala at the Allen Room on Friday, October 16 at 7pm.

NCLR (National Council of La Raza) the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization today announced that this year s revamped 2009 ALMA Awards® will showcase more Latino talent in more arenas than ever before. NCLR President and CEO Janet Murguía and Executive Producer Eva Longoria Parker made the announcement at a news conference at Beso Restaurant, Longoria Parker s Latin-themed restaurant in Hollywood. Among the major changes to this acclaimed show is the addition of a co-host, the actor, comedian, and talk show host George Lopez.

AN EVENING WITH LYNDA CARTER Hits NY 3/13-3/14

Lynda Carter, best known for her starring role as TV's 'Wonder Woman', resumes her singing tour this spring in select US cities including appearances at Lincoln Center in New York and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. with a brand new concert: 'An Evening with Lynda Carter'. Headlining from Harrahs in Atlantic City to Los Angeles' Catalina Jazz Club to New York's Feinstein's at the Regency, she offers a repertoire of jazz, blues, and country in a dynamic and sexy show. Her new CD, 'At Last', recorded in Nashville, will be out this spring. Ms. Carter's New York appearance will take place on March 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Series at The Allen Room located in the Time Warner Building. The special star-studded evening will feature performers from stage & screen - from Saturday Night Live to Spring Awakening - all to benefit Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force. 100% of the profits from this spectacular event will be donated directly to Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force, five charitable organizations working to promote equality and protect civil rights for the gay and lesbian community. Defying Inequality: The Broadway Concert, A Celebrity Benefit for Equal Rights, is produced by 4Good Productions, the same presenters of the 2005 event Broadway's Celebrity Benefit for Hurricane Relief at the Gershwin Theatre.
