Donmar Warehouse Announces Full Schedule, Updates for 2015 Fall Season
by Matt Smith
- Jun 3, 2015
Artistic Director Josie Rourke said: One of the things that most excites me about this season is the strong leading roles for women. It is a thrill to announce a season of work that features, in plays by living writers, women of the calibre and power of Zawe Ashton, Sinead Cusack, Michelle Dockery, Michelle Fairley, Genevive O'Reilly and Janet McTeer, who returns to the Donmar and the London stage. This, combined with the transfer of Phyllida Lloyd's second instalment in her trilogy of all-female Shakespeares to New York shows a programme of work in deep conversation with the lives of women and their status as actors on our stage. We continue our commitment to bringing topical and searing new plays to the Donmar with the British premiere of Christopher Shinn's Teddy Ferrara. I am particularly delighted that Dominic Cooke is returning to theatre and to his long-standing collaboration with Christopher Shinn to direct this production. On a personal note, I have long wanted to direct Christopher Hampton's superb Les Liaisons Dangereuses, and the cast we have drawn together is a testament to the brilliance of his play. As well as welcoming Janet McTeer back to the Donmar, I am thrilled that Dominic West will return to our stage in this production.

by Tyler Peterson
- Apr 8, 2014
They're only one missed dose away from ripping our heads apart' is the mantra of zombie haters out to destroy the fragile peace reached between the undead and the living. Enter the hotbed town of Roarton when season two of, In The Flesh, BBC AMERICA's genre-bending six-part zombie mini-series, returns Saturday, May 10, 10:00pm ET. What happens when the undead re-enter society as functioning beings? Can things ever go back to normal? And more importantly, who is more dangerous, the undead or the living? Nine months have passed and the war to protect the town from the undead, known as Partially Deceased Syndrome (PDS) sufferers has ceased. Kieren Walker (Luke Newberry, The Legend of Hercules) however, is still struggling to find self-acceptance and longs to escape to Paris to start anew. But in the wider world, the fear of an uprising is palpable. PDS terrorists linked to the Undead Liberation Army (ULA), believing they are the redeemed, are going rabid (zombie state) off the drug, Blue Oblivion, and attacking the living at an alarming rate - causing the radical Pro-living political party, Victus, to target the undead with vigor and oppressive measures. And with the arrival of new and explosive characters from both factions in Roarton, Kieren is caught square in the middle of a new budding war, making his desire for a quiet life an unrealistic option.

BBC America Bumps Up Zombie Miniseries IN THE FLESH to June
by Tyler Peterson
- May 7, 2013
BBC AMERICA's co-production, In The Flesh, tells a very human story... about the undead. The mini-series springs to life with the channel's special broadcast event, premiering over three consecutive nights. Zombie teenager Kieren Walker isn't comfortable in his 'undead' state. He didn't want to come back - he wanted to be dead. After his suicide four years ago, his friends and family thought they'd never see him again. But then, shortly after his funeral, thousands rose from the dead. After months of re-habilitation and medication, the zombies, now known as PDS (Partially Deceased Syndrome) sufferers, are gradually being returned to their homes. When Kieran returns, he is forced to confront his family, the community that rejected him and the haunting flashbacks of what he did in his untreated state. BBC AMERICA's special three-night premiere event of In The Flesh begins Thursday, June 6, 10:00pm ET/PT.
