Victory Gardens Theater concludes its 41st season with Midwest Premiere of The House That Will Not Stand by Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. The House That Will Not Stand runs June 10 - July 10, 2016, with the press performance on Friday, June 17, 2016, at 7:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Cleveland Play House's New Ground Theatre Festival (NGTF) is breaking new ground once again, with four extraordinary works by some of America's hottest playwrights.

This holiday season, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, in collaboration with the Apollo Theater, presents the world premiere of The First Noel. This Harlem- based holiday musical features music that crosses genres-from pop to jazz to gospel - to tell a universal story of love and belonging. Book, lyrics and music by Jason Michael Webb (Motown: The Musical, Violetand The Color Purple) and Lelund Durond Thompson (founder, YellaFella Entertainment and CTH Artistic Associate). Steve H. Broadnax III (Dominique Morisseau's Blood at the Root) serves as director and Brian Harlan Brooks (Motown: The Musical) as choreographer for this holiday presentation, which will take place in the Apollo's soundstage. The First Noel, commissioned by The Classical Theatre of Harlem and in association with Penn State Centre Stage, has been in development for three years and is intended to become a Harlem holiday classic.

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's NATIONAL BLACK THEATRE, the oldest continually operating black theater in New York, will present the New York City Premiere of DEAD AND BREATHING by GLAAD Media Award winner Chisa Hutchinson (She Like Girls). Directed by Obie winner Jonathan McCrory, performances of this this limited run Off-Broadway engagement run through November 23.

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's NATIONAL BLACK THEATRE, the oldest continually operating black theater in New York, will present the New York City Premiere of DEAD AND BREATHING by GLAAD Media Award winner Chisa Hutchinson (She Like Girls). Directed by Obie winner Jonathan McCrory, the production opens tonight, November 5, 2015.

Quick Silver Theater Company will now begin its new play development course of action entitled CITIZEN ONE READINGS. Its 'Citizen One' readings will investigate the impact of one citizen on a community and the force of change that develops as a result of that citizen's actions.

Marcia Pendelton, founder and president of Walk Tall Girl Productions, celebrated the 15th anniversary of her company on Monday, September 28, 2015. Pendelton and her friends from the performing arts, fashion and media joined forces to celebrate her company's work to bring diverse audiences to the arts, on Broadway and beyond. Lolita Foster, Orange Is the New Black, will play Catherine. Nafeesa Monroe, co-producer of PROOF, will play Claire. Alejandro Rodriguez, core company member of QST, will play Hal. Johanna Day -- OBIE winner and Tony nominated for role in Broadway's PROOF -- will make her directorial debut with this production.
