The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today that Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Stephanie Umoh (Ragtime), Jim Stanek (Freud's Last Session) and Host Edward Hibbert as The Drowsy Chaperone's "Man in Chair" join Wicked composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz, Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek the Musical), Telly Leung (TV's "Glee"), Ciara Renee (Big Fish) and Sarah Stiles (Into the Woods) in SHOW OFF!, a benefit concert celebrating 25 years of NAMT's Annual Festival of New Musicals on Sunday, October 20 at 7pm at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square).

'Songs Are Like Friends II' will feature musical selections from composers including Sheldon Harnick, Maltby & Shire, Craig Carnelia, and Bob Ost.

The Drama League presents the pre-release concert and celebration of the studio cast recording of the new musical PERFECT PICTURE, inspired by the life of Norman Rockwell, with original score by Gail C. Bluestone (music) and Eileen Bluestone Sherman (lyrics). Starring: Debbie Gravitte, Ron Holgate, Mark Jacoby, Andrea McArdle, Randy Skinner and Lillias White. With Musical Director Aaron Jodoin and hosted by Joshua Sherman and Eileen Bluestone Sherman tonight, OCTOBER 7 at 7pm.

Just yesterday, September 24, The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) presented the fifth annual Broadway Salutes, a celebration -- free and open to the public - which honors the countless professionals who have made Broadway great for decades. In this industry-wide event, which was held at the Times Square Visitor Center (1560 Broadway, between 46th and 47th Streets) in the heart of the theatre district, theater professionals received special recognition for having worked 25, 35, and 50 years in their respective theatrical craft. In this industry-wide event, which will take place at the Times Square Visitor Center (1560 Broadway, between 46th and 47th Streets) in the heart of the theatre district, theater professionals will receive special recognition for having worked 25, 35, and 50 years in their respective theatrical craft. The event will begin at 3:30PM with red carpet arrivals, and the public ceremony will begin at 4:00PM.

Bay Area Cabaret, devoted to presenting audiences with top performers who expand the definition of cabaret, enters its 10th season this fall with a gala series at the Fairmont San Francisco's historic Venetian Room. To celebrate this significant milestone, Bay Area Cabaret presents a star-studded lineup of performers making their Bay Area Cabaret debuts, as well as the return of a few favorites from the past decade. Fresh off work on Fox Searchlight's feature film BLACK NATIVITY starring Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson, Forest Whitaker and Mary J. Blige - and directed by Kasi Lemmons - Otis Sallid, the creator of SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE, brings an exciting new musical project to life, HARLEM'S BIG OTIS JUMP UP BLUES REVUE. The REVUE will make it's home at Ginny's Supper Club located in Marcus Samuelsson's popular Red Rooster Harlem, (310 Lenox Avenue). Performances are scheduled every Thursday night, two shows - 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., tonight, August 15 and August 22, 29, 2013.

For an authentic taste of the Harlem soulful music scene, tourists and locals alike should visit 'Big Otis Jump Up Blues Revue' on Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m. throughout the month of August, with the first show taking place tonight, August 8th, at Ginny's Supper Club.

Billy Porter, 2013 Tony Award Winner for Best Actor in a Musical (Kinky Boots) surprised students of Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive Session One with his appearance on July 25th. Porter entertained the students with tales of his experiences. In addition, he participated in a Q&A, answering student's questions and providing advice for young performers. Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert visited students at Broadway Artists Alliance Alumni Session to share his journey from young actor to Tony Award Winner. Earlier this year, Ebert won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical. Scroll down for photos from the event!
