Broadway's landmark musical event THE LION KING is pleased to welcome JOSHUA JACKSON as 'Young Simba' and KHAIL TOI BRYANT as 'Young Nala' to the company. Jackson and Bryant made their Broadway debuts last night.

Houston Grand Opera closes its 2009-2010 season with Nicholas Hytner's laurence Olivier Award-wining production of Handel's XERXES. XERXES opens on Friday April 30 with performances through May 14.

LION KING Cast Members To Perform for Phila.ActionAIDS 4/12

Select cast and crew members of Disney's THE LION KING will host UMCULO WEBHUBESI (the lion sings tonight) - a concert featuring South African music and dance. This very special one-time event will be held on Monday, April 12 at The Trocadero located at 1003 Arch Street Philadelphia, PA. West End Premiere of THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED Opens Tonight at the Garrick Theatre, 1/20

The West End premiere of Douglas Carter Beane's THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED concludes April 10. The production opened January 20 at London's Garrick Theatre. The cast features film star Rupert Friend alongside Tamsin Greig, Olivier Award winner for her performance in Much Ado About Nothing with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is directed by Jamie Lloyd. The cast also features British actors Gemma Arterton and Harry Lloyd. The play began previews January 9th.

Filipino Singer Ivy Rose Padilla Stars in MISS SAIGON Wellington, Show Runs 4/8-24

De La Salle University-Manila graduate Ivy Rose Padilla plays the tragic lead in Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby, Jr.'s epic and critically-acclaimed musical 'Miss Saigon', which is performed onstage for the first time at the St. James Theatre, Wellington, New Zealand from April 8 to 24, 2010.

Emma Barton Returns To The West End As Roxie Hart In CHICAGO April 26

Emma Barton, best-known as ‘Honey Mitchell' in 'EastEnders', will return to the London boards to star as ‘Roxie Hart' in the West End production of 'CHICAGO' at the Cambridge Theatre at Covent Garden's Seven Dials for 12 weeks from 26 April 2010.

Theatre Exile Closes Its 13th Season With SHINING CITY, 4/7-4/25

March 3, 2010 - Theatre Exile is proud to close their 13th season with the Philadelphia premiere of Shining City by Conor McPherson, the award-winning playwright of The Weir and The Seafarer. Directed by Exile's associate artistic director Matt Pfieffer, Shining City runs April 7th through the 25th at the Plays and Players Theatre, with the press opening Friday, April 9th at 8pm.

Teatro ZinZanni Presents LOVE, CHAOS & COUTURE, Begins 5/20

Teatro ZinZanni's upcoming production Love, Chaos & Couture opening May 20, features an artistic collaboration with international fashion designer Luly Yang, who created thirteen original costumes for the show. An affectionate send-up of the world of high fashion, the show stars the legendary Tony Award winner Liliane Montevecchi, who returns to the San Francisco spiegeltent after an absence of two years, and ZinZanni favorite, comedian Frank Ferrante.

Kohl, Marcus et al. Join Patinkin, Baldwin, Opel in PARADISE FOUND; Rehearsals Start 5th April; Opens 19th May

Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). This is their first collaboration since the landmark, Tony Award-winning revival of Show Boat. Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26.

Ruthie Henshall Ends Run In CHICAGO, April 24

Ruthie Henshall, currently starring as ‘Roxie Hart' in the West End production of 'CHICAGO' at the Cambridge Theatre in Covent Garden's Seven Dials, will end her run in the production on April 24, 2010 after multiple extensions. Ruthie Henshall originated the role of ‘Roxie Hart' in 1997 - for which she was lauded by the critics and nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award - when 'CHICAGO' first conquered the West End.
