Nicholas Hytner's five star award-winning production of One Man, Two Guvnors is currently playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket after two sell-out record-breaking runs at the National and Adelphi Theatres. Joining Owain Arthur as lovable chancer Francis Henshall are Jodie Prenger and Hannah Spearritt who play Dolly and Pauline respectively. Opera and Theatre director Sir Jonathan Miller will return to the British theatre stage next year for the first time in five years to helm the Northern Broadsides production of Githa Sowerby's Rutherford & Son. The production will open at the Viaduct Theatre, Halifax from Friday 8th February 2013 and then tour the UK.

Disney Theatrical Productions and Gexa Energy Broadway at the Hobby Center announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING will go on sale to the public on Saturday, March 10 at 10 a.m. Houston's return will leap onto the Hobby Center stage on Tuesday, July 10 for a limited engagement of five weeks through Sunday, August 12. THE LION KING's sold-out eight-week Houston premiere engagement in 2002 at Jones Hall was followed by a sold-out six-week return engagement in 2006 at the Hobby Center.

The Standard reports: 'Sondheim speaks of pushing forward and says he has '20 or 30 minutes' written of a new musical that he is collaborating on with American playwright David Ives, a New York regular little known in London.'
Stephen Sondheim, known for contributing some of the most beloved musicals of all time to the musical theater canon, is not shy about expressing his dismay with the current Broadway and West End offerings in the UK Times. Of the selections du jour he says: 'There is an anodyne homogeneity that governs Broadway musicals, so I don't see many. There's nothing wrong with having a lot of commercial crap as long as you have something else. Unfortunately, nearly everything on Broadway is commercial crap. The same is true of the West End. When I scan what's on, my heart sinks into my boots."

On Wednesday, February 29, 2012, Tony Award winner Roger Rees will perform his one-man show, What You Will in a special appearance at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF. Rees replaces Brian Bedford, who, due to scheduling conflicts, will be unable to perform his one-man show, The Lunatic, The Lover and the Poet, as previously announced.

Michael Attenborough directs Eduardo De Filippo's Filumena in a new English version by Tanya Ronder running at the Almeida from 15 March - 12 May 2012, with press night on 22 March at 7pm.
