Fire Dog, will play the role of "Nana" in this year's Panto at The Playhouse production of PETER PAN AND TINKER BELL - A PIRATES CHRISTMAS for one day only, on Sunday, December 20, 2015. Wilshire, a Dalmatian, has served as the L.A.F.D. Fire Dog since he was taken in as a rescue puppy by the firefighters at the Wilshire Blvd. fire station on St. Patrick's Day, 2006.

Lythgoe Family Productions (LFP) announces the expansion of their family friendly pantos this holiday season with two productions playing concurrently in Southern California - A SNOW WHITE CHRISTMAS, directed by Chris Baldock, playing December 2-27 at the Laguna Playhouse, and PETER PAN AND TINKER BELL - A PIRATES CHRISTMAS, directed by Bonnie Lythgoe, playing December 9 - January 3 at The Pasadena Playhouse.
The Pasadena Playhouse production of REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES by Josefina López and directed by Seema Sueko opened in conjunction with the Wells Fargo Theatrical Diversity Project fundraising event. For the last few years the uber talented Lythgoe family have been entertaining us at Christmastime, first at the El Portal in NoHo and now at the Pasadena Playhouse with a British style panto. A panto is an interactive entertainment that starts with a very contemporary retelling of a fairy tale such as Snow White, Cinderella, or in this case Sleeping Beauty and turns it into a fun imaginative show with music that will appeal to both children and their parents. There's usually an actor in drag (outrageous David Engel as Nanny Tickle, Aurora's nanny), a villain or villainess (Lucy Lawless as Carabosse))... and audience are encouraged to root for the heroes and HISS loudly at the villains.
