Broadway in Detroit has announced that the new U.S. National Tour of ANNIE will begin at The Fisher Theatre in Detroit, September 26 - October 4, 2014. Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin for the 18th time, this production of ANNIE will be a brand new physical incarnation of the iconic Tony Award-winning original.

The Citi Performing Arts Center and MSG Entertainment are pleased to announce that the new U.S. National Tour of ANNIE will play November 5 - 16, 2014 at the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre in Boston. Musical Dramatization of the 1913 Trial of Leo Frank - Which Aroused Anti-Semitic Tensions Across the Nation and is Credited with the Creation of the Anti-Defamation League. WHAT: Parade is a musical dramatization of the real-life story of a man falsely accused of murder, brought to emotional and theatrical life by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Alfred Uhry and Tony Award Winning composer/lyricist Jason Robert Brown. In 1913, Leo Frank, a Brooklyn-raised Jewish man living in Georgia, is put on trial for the murder of a young girl who works in his factory. Already guilty in the eyes of the town, a sensationalist reporter and a janitor's false testimony seal Leo's fate. His only defenders are a governor with a conscience and his Southern wife who finds the strength and love to become his greatest champion.

Darien Arts Center Stage is a community theatre dedicated to providing excellence in entertainment through plays, musicals, cabarets, and special events. Their Weatherstone Studio at the Darien Arts Center has recently played host to a production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. Flawlessly directed by Peter Green, the timeless songs, intimate theater setting, simple set pieces, inspired costumes and brilliant Broadway-caliber cast combined for an entertaining and memorable evening. I felt privileged to be able to attend such a perfect production.

As BroadwayWorld reported last week, Cathy Rigby is being sued by composer Craig Barna over the latest tour of PETER PAN. Barna's $2 million lawsuit claims that he has not been compensated for over 30 musical numbers that he contributed to the musical. Tom McCoy, of McCoy Rigby Entertainment, has responded to the lawsuit and gave BroadwayWorld the following statement regarding the situation:

HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, with book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and music by Galt MacDermot, is the story of the 'tribe', a group of politically active, long-haired hippies of the 'Age of Aquarius' living a bohemian life in New York City and fighting against conscription into the Vietnam War and features the familiar hit songs 'Aquarius', 'Good Morning Starshine,' and 'Let The Sun Shine In.'

The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) has announced the cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical an exuberant rock musical about a group of young Americans searching for truth, peace and love.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) has announced that Broadway veterans Jason Alexander ("Seinfeld," Jerome Robbins' Broadway) and Tovah Feldshuh (Golda's Balcony, Irena's Vow) will star in the season opener of the Winter 2013 Musicals in Mufti Series: Two By Two, with Book by Peter Stone, Lyrics by Martin Charnin and Music by the legendary Richard Rodgers.
