Everybody needs a good laugh, and that's just what you will get when you attend The Nerd, now being performed at George Street Playhouse (GSP) through May 20. Written by Larry Shue and superbly directed by Kevin Cahoon, the play has an awesome cast that channels Shue's comic genius into 2 hours of sheer fun. The Nerd is the coolest show in town!
Awkwardness reaches hilarious new heights in the final show of our season, The Nerd. When an unexpected party guest (played by 2 Broke Girls' Jonathan Kite) turns into an unwanted house guest, Willum (Modern Family's Colin Hanlon) executes an elaborate plan to rid himself of the wacky nuisance. Aided by a rag-tag team that includes friends, a would-be lover and an oblivious boss, creative acts of desperation quickly dissolve into utter mayhem and merriment. The twists and turns of this madcap comedy lead to an ending that leaves you feeling happily hoodwinked!
George Street Playhouse, today announced Ann Harada (TV's Smash), Colin Hanlon (TV's Modern Family, Broadway's Falsettos), Kate Reinders (Broadway's Wicked and Something Rotten), Zach Shaffer (TV's Six Feet Under, Broadway's A View From the Bridge) and Stephen Wallem (Showtime's Nurse Jackie), will join the previously announced Jonathan Kite (TV's 2 Broke Girls) in Larry Shue's The Nerd, on stage April 24 - May 20, 2018. Hayden Bercy (National Tour, A Christmas Story, The Musical) rounds out the cast as 8-year-old Thor Waldgrave.

Sarah Litzsinger and Kate Reinders team up for their Green Room 42 debut in TASTiSKANK: Smoke 'n Mirrors. Known for their roles in Something Rotten!, Wicked, Amour, and Beauty & the Beast, Kate and Sarah are two Broadway gals and real-life best friends who teamed up in 2006 to create TASTiSKANK, their singing-songwriting comedy duo. They were voted the 25 Sexiest New Yorker's by the NY Post and have over 1.2 million views of their tune, The Sex Song on YouTube. They have performed at Ars Nova, the UCB, Joe's Pub, Caroline's, Comix, the TBS Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, and won the 2007 Breakout Award at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen.
On Monday October 16, 16 Wicked women gathered in song in The Green Room 42. The Green Elixir Mixer was a one night only concert featuring some of the most iconic actresses to have ever played the roles of Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked. The lineup included original Broadway cast members, current cast members and so many in between.
